She had been off work for some time and was supposed to meet the XO. Little Cerenity was with her they entered the holodeck. Luna started a forest program. While they were waiting luna and cerenity decided to get some flying time. It had been way too long since the last time they cont to fly.
Ensign Luna

Raauhl had been running late, his meeting had over run by a considerable mile and now he was still in uniform and nothing like the program intended but he was still eager to meet up with Luna and Cerenity the two of which, along with Gen had kept him grounded since the disappearance of Casela. Even thinking her name made him feel sad but spending time with Luna helped at least a bit. Stepping quickly into the holodeck as usual his instinct was to look up, whenever they were in the holodeck the pair typically spent it flying and he wasn’t wrong. Instead of calling up he watched them for a moment before walking the wooded trail until finally he found himself perched atop a cliff edge looking out the vast scene of rolling mountains and trees.

Luna caught sight of Raauhl as she was walking up the path to the cliff. She smiled angling her wings so she would circle around and land behind him. When he had reached the cliff. ” Hello there, how are you Camander” she said.
Ensign Luna

“Seeing you flying never gets old” Raauhl chuckled, “I am very well thankyou Luna how about you and Cerenity?” He had taken quiet the interest in the single mother ensign and her daughter. It was never easy fitting in and he knew that but Luna and Cerenity were so different he couldn’t imagine what it would be like to be in their shoes and often made the effort to make them feel welcome and involved.

• Raauhl, XO

” we are alright,” Luna said thoughtfully. She looked up to where cerenity was flying she shook her head. ” her wing placement is a mess” Luna said then shook her head and focused back on Raauhl. ” Sorry, she has been driving me crazy about teaching her more advanced flying. She is not ready for it.” Luna smiled at him. ” So news is we are getting a new CO” she said wondering if it was true.
Ensign Luna

Raauhl shook his head, “Not a new CO but were are having another Captain join us for a few months.” He shrugged, “Im not sure what the agenda is whether it was pushed by headquarters or starfleet themselves but regardless I’mm be hosting him while he’s aboard and making sure he’s getting everything he needs.” Ryder looked up to cerenity. “She’s doing a better job than I would.” He chuckled.

” oh, joy want me to scare him for you” luna asked with a playful grin. It was clear her statement was a joke. ” maby, but getting the basics down is really important. Especially if you have to fly during a fight” Luna said with a smile. She reached up and put a hand on Raauhl’s shoulder. ” she will get it eventually, you still hurt from Cas’s disappearance” she asked a bit more serenely. She let him see her concern. Luna rarly let anyone that close to her. Something told her that Raauhl need to know.
Ensign Luna

Raauhl face stiffened but as quickly softened in the blink of an eye, “Yes well I though we had something but if all my lives have taught me anything I can’t remain in solitude forever.” He smiled at Luna thankful for her questioning, where she had rested her hand felt a light tingling, the sort of feel you get when you enjoy that momentary physical connection with someone. Realising he had been thinking for too long he cleared his throat, “Well with a mentor like you I bet she’ll be flying great in no time.” He wondered why he was reacting in such a positively emotional way to the Ensign.

” Raaul, it ok to feal pain it’s been year’s and I still wake up in tears over Loki.” She said letting her hand drop to her side. She had used his first name but she wanted to make sure he know how important what she had said was. She looked at Cerenity for a moment. “You just have to remember there are still people here who love and care about you. You are not alone” She said.

Raauhl thought about her words, since her time here Luna had found her place amongst the crew and on the ship as a whole and he was someone he and Cobb could rely on heavily, was his emotions and thoughts something else he could entrust to her? Before he could speak a younger version of Luna’s voice rang in front of him. It was scary how gently and quietly they could land.

Cerenity landed quietly in front of them. “Mr Rider did you see.” She asked excitedly. She held her arms up as if silently asking for a hug.

Ensign luna

Bending down Raauhl hugged Cerentiy and whirled her around, “I did! You’re doing great!” He exclaimed, and it was true. Since he had last visited the two during their flying sessions she seemed far less erratic and like her mother had a dash of grace about her flying technique. “How is Cerenity doing?” He asked her smiling and he put her back down. “School going ok?”

Luna smiled ” you know your great with children” she said.

Raauhl chuckled, “A few hundred years of experience will do that to you” He cplexiand referring to his previous hosts.

” I sapose it would what is living that long like” she asked curiously.

Cerenity giggled as Raaauhl swung her around. “Mommy still won’t teach me how to do loops” she said. Then smiled ” fun though kinda to easy. Helping in Sickbay is really fun though” She said with a grin.
Ensign Luna

“Well you should listen to your mum, she knows when you’re ready! She was where you are once so mum knows best” He smiled at young cerentity. “Sickbay is a great place to help out, keeping my crew happy makes me happy” He explained. “I’ve heard good things from the staff, you’re really doing great, like with anything including flying it takes time.” He played his hand on her head and fuzzeled her hair playfully.

“You’re messing up my hair” Cerenity giggled. When she stopped giggling she opened her wings and took off to fly around again. ” and there she goes I swear that kid is always on the move” Luna giggled. She looked back to Ryder. ” So how’s your little one doing it not heard about Gen yet today,” Luna said.
Ensign Luna

He smiled thinking about Gen, “She’s been keeping herself distracted. I must admit I do struggle to keep her entertained and out of trouble particularly when I am so busy most of the time.” He explained, “Being a single parent is hard, being a parent to Gen with her powers is nearly impossible.”

Luna smiled looking up at her own Energetic child. ” I know what you mean. I got lucky with this posting though. There great people perhaps finding an area of the ship she can help out at would be a good way to occupy her. Cerenity helps our in sickbay now it has keep her out of a lot of trouble. On top of school but cerenity enjoys helping in sickbay. So what ever you find for her she has to enjoy it.” luna said offering a sigestion.
