The diminutive engineer smiled broadly at the shuttle bay; illuminated in the unsettling red glow of emergency lights. Clapping his metal hands together with a loud crash, he started barking orders to the other engineers and crewmen. “Right then! You all know why we are here; we have been ordered to prep two shuttles for an expeditionary force to a nearby structure. These are unknown conditions, so let’s have full loads. And because this appears to be a construct, go heavy on the forcible entry kit; as well as search and rescue. If if doubt, let’s bring it along.”
Durheim smiled as the crew leaped into action. He wasn’t sure, but he suspected they enjoyed the mundane nature of the tasks in front of them; as opposed to the incomprehensible horrors that they so frequently faced. Oh well, not everyone has a sense of adventure.
Returning to the entrance hatch, he keyed up the bridge on the now ubitiquous wired comms. =/\=Shuttle bay to Bridge; this is Chief Durheim. Two shuttles are being prepped for launch now; I estimate we should be ready in approximately 20 minutes.=/\=
