In a strange turn of events that took Conrad by surprise, the XO vanished from before his eyes. He was about to turn in alarm to Juliet to see if she had noticed as well, but his attention was drawn to the holo-window which showed the light of stars that just moments before hadn’t been there. He glanced at Juliet before beckoning her to follow and made his way quickly back to the CIC.An intake of breath was all she heard, but it was enough to make Juliet turn around with her body tense and on alert. Seeing they were alone, she frowned. But the Captain’s reaction at looking at the window made her look as well. “What in … ” her voice was barely a whisper as she moved in great strides to depart the room with the Captain and stand beside him on the bridge.
“Status report! What’s our current position?” Conrad said with as much authority as he could muster in his voice. Things would be stalled too long if questions were thrown at him before they could figure out what was going on and more importantly where they were.
“Astrometrics reports that we’re back in the Alpha Quadrant!” An ensign responded with their eyes glued to their console.
“What’s our position exactly? Anything around us showing on short-range sensors?” Conrad asked next.
“Our position reads as being within a million kilometers of where we were before we got transported to that other… space. Sensors show as all clear but there’s a chance they could still be disrupted.” The ensign responded.
Conrad nodded before touching a key on a console for intra-ship communication, hoping that the system was working since they were back in normal space. =/\=Crew of the Leviathan this is Captain Mackenzie, both the CO and XO of the ship have vanished and as the ranking officer aboard I am assuming command until replacements are designated. I want a damage assessment done of all ship systems, verify that we’re back in the Alpha Quadrant, and then we’ll make best speed to the nearest starbase. Acting XO will be Lt Cmdr Magnusson so please direct any questions to him first and I’ll collaborate with him as events proceed. Mackenzie out.=/\=
He looked over those gathered in the CIC. “You have your orders. Please get us underway as soon as the all-clear is given. I’ll be in the ready room getting in touch with Starfleet Command.” He nodded once then strode out of the CIC.
With that the peril had ended for the Leviathan and her crew though not without some casualties.
CO Mackenzie
The idea they had not only entered their own space but the CO and XO had disappeared, didn’t sit well with her. But she doubted it did with anyone else. Following the Captain, their real Captain now, out the door.

Magnus stood on the CIC As the Captain made the announcement, as usual he didn’t make any expression at the announcement but internally he worried, he’d been on the Leviathan for a few days if that and now he was acting XO under a new Captain. He curtailed his more suspicious instincts and went on with his new duties, asking for reports from department heads and checking on ship status, preparing them to leave.
