A tone sounded through the bridge. “Docking complete,” the conn officer said.

=^= Confirmed, Leviathan, =^= a voice sounded through the open comm channel. =^= Docking complete. Welcome back to Starbase 237. =^=

“Thank you Starbase 237,” Rhansi responded, the ritual still humorous to him. “Permission to disembark?”

=^= Permission granted, Leviathan. We are at your disposal. =^=

“Thank you Starbase. Commander Rhansi out.” The communications officer on duty ended the comm with a brief chirp and looked at the Barzan, waiting the next command. Rhansi nodded. “Open a ship wide channel, please.” The chirp sounded again, and he again pondered Starfleet’s overuse of speakers as the sound seemed to emanate from everywhere.

“This is… acting captain Rhansi,” he began, the position foreign on his tongue, “to all Leviathan personnel. We are now docked at Starbase 237. You are all ordered to begin preparations for loading of new stock. If you are RTF shift code—” He tapped the terminal on the seat arm he stood beside. “—delta blue 29, you are to stand by to assist with transfer of secure cargo codes to station personnel. You begin two weeks of R&R in two hours, and all ship personnel must debark. You have all earned it. See you in 14 days. Rhansi out.”

Two hours later, Rhansi stood by the primary umbilical exit as personnel began streaming off of the vessel; some were still in uniform — likely already having secured a transport that required them to remain in such — while others were in civilian wear, ready to attend social events on the station before heading out elsewhere if they did not remain on board.

“You don’t have to stay here, Commander,” the young lieutenant beside him said. He turned and looked at her as she continued. “We can handle your crew debarking.” He watched as personnel info drifted across the screen of the PADD she held, matching biometric information to the people she saw leaving. Another stood across the umbilical from them.

“I know, and your division has always been exemplary,” he responded, nodding to more personnel as they left. “But until the last person has left, they are my responsibility; after they pass here, then they are yours. Thank, you Ensign, enjoy your time off!” he shook the hand of one officer who passed with his hand extended; Rogers in science, he recalls.

The lieutenant beside him shrugged. “It’s your leave,” she said.

“Not yet, it isn’t,” he responded with a small chuckle, the strange breath pulling in an odd mix of air across his breathers. “It’s theirs.”

OOC: Hey everybody! Please go ahead and RP some R&R scenarios. In a couple of days I will spin up a main sim for us to do, and it will begin here in the Starbase. I’m excited to start this with everyone!

XO Rhansi/Nathan

So what are we going to do about engineering our CE is gone and it looks like I am the only engineer left.
