Kitiuas made it to the science department labs. It was eerily empty and quiet, with the one exception of someone hiccup weeping. Anger began to course through Kit when she realized no one was in the science department or labs. The anger began to override her fear. She bellowed out “Where the hell is everybody?” as she walked through the departments and labs. She found a young, blond, female human lab technician weeping under a desk. Her knees pulled tight against her body. Kit racked her brain trying to recall her name; “NE Technician Elsie Abbas?” The young technician did not acknowledge Kit. “Technician Abbas I asked you a question!” This seemed to snap the young technician out of whatever state she was in “Yes Lieutenant?” she inquired. “Where is all the science staff and why do my labs look like a tornado blew threw them?” NE Abbas hiccupped and replied “Everyone began going crazy. Throwing things and running around screaming nonsense. I hid under the desk as all the commotion went on. Then there was a loud crash, the ship shook and the Red Alert Klaxon went off.” Kit sighed and sat back on her heels, distantly she felt the urge to run and get off the ship, her fear phobia of hospitals was extremely strong, but she now found she could focus past these emotions and concentrate on the task at hand. “Okay NE Abbas time to get to work. Have any samples been brought to science since this all happened?” “No sir.” Replied NE Technician Elsie Abbas. “Very well crawl out from under that desk, we have work to do.” With that Kit stood up and looked around the trashed lab.

Lieutenant j.g. Thenis slapped her commbadge =^= Sickbay this is Lieutenant Thenis, it would appear my staff has decided to go stir crazy and abandon their assigned post. I have one technician with me and cannot afford to send her away. Can you please have one of the saner medical technician’s bring me those samples. I have to put the biology lab together…=^= as she said that a thought struck her, “NE Abbas, have any of the plants or fungi we are supposed to have in Level 10 Force Fields been released from their fields?” NE Technician Abbas thought for a moment “Yes, NE Ensign Kiewel, the Xenomycologist and Xenobotanist, was working on a new specimen of fungus, from Beta Pertelius . The field was down force just a minute as he was moving it from the greenhouse containment to the work bench.” Crap thought Kit. =^=Engineering I need an immediate shut down and purge of ALL ventilation systems on the science deck. We have a possible Level One Biological contamination, source Science deck.=^= She then turned to NE Technician Elsie Abbas, “Time to get into a full isolation containment suit.” With that Kit made her way to the lockers were the suits were kept and pulled out a suit, she was followed by NE Technician Abbas. Once her suit was on Kitiuas hit the emergency seal for all science labs; in effect sealing of the deck and cutting off air flow and accesses to science. In a tin sounding voice Kitiuas looked at NE Abbas “Okay, we need to find this damn fungus. Do you know what it looked like? Also, when this is all over remind me to throttle NE Ensign Kiewel for breaking protocol.”

Lieutenant j.g. Kitiuas Thenis

=^= Lieutenant Thenis, Main Engineering, your request is confirmed. Stand by for the Deck 4 ventilation shut down in…5 minutes. Get suited up, Sir. =^= Tom was on duty watch during this time. He was at the face-to-face table station looking for troubles of the overall entire ship’s health after an obvious explosion that shook her. The environmental system was not a common thing they need to modify in daily operations. “Where is the environmental control room?” He asked an engineer near to him. Once upon a time, he and a CSO on board the training ship had a fixup situation there and it was sort of a Deja Vu to him now.

“Over here, Ensign.” NEng Meylan managed to show up before that crew opened his mouth. While catching his breath, he pointed to the other side of the panel. It looked like this time it doesn’t require the JO to go directly to a place, but he could remotely control that thing to shut down the system.

“Master Chief!” He said it with a surprised tone. “Aren’t you with Lieutenant Osedi? The meeting?”

Ens Little, Eng

“We were, until somebody went crazy and the meeting went nuts, Sir.” He barely added the word. After the chaos, he had lost the CE in sight and had to return to his duty station.

NEng Meylan, Master Chief

A young science officer emerged, with ease, from a corner where she’d been hiding. “Sir, do you think it’s a fungus that is causing everyone to go crazy?” Cadet Toussaint had just been stationed on the Leviathan before everything started. She had not even had time to do her check-ins. “I am sorry I hid. It’s just that everyone was going crazy. I was chased here in the lab where I hid until now.” She looked around the lab. “I am Cadet Toussaint. I studied Biochemistry and Microbiology at the Academy. What can I do to help?”

Lieutenant Thenis took a calming breath before issuing her orders. “Cadet Toussaint and NE Technician Abbas suit up now. After you are suited up proceed to determine whether one of these damn plants or fungi are responsible for this chaos, and if so, find me a bloody cure. She snapped out, as she shrugged herself into an environmental hazard suit. “Oh and Cadet Toussaint, welcome to the Levi and our corner of the universes craziness.”

-Lieutenant Kitiuas Thenis, CSO

OOC: Meet your new science cadet :). Feel free to give her orders so she can help you.

Toussaint, Scientist

-OCC: Welcome to the craziness

(OOC: Nice! I fixed the original post, didn’t know this was aligned with the training story.)

After returning to his station, Meylan was able to disable the annoying red alert alarm on the ship. It had been triggered as a microscopic invasion alert. The ship’s sensors had picked it up before the crew knew what it was. The status report from the engineering console alerted Meylan of this.

Mika, Narrator

A voice crackled through the comm.

=^=Kit–I mean, Lieutenant Thenis–Mown Gworl here. NE Sinclair and I are on our way with some samples. Over.=^=

-CTO Mown Gworl, crossposted

Kitiuas slapped the area where her commbadge was and it instantly connected to the environmental hazard suits internal comms unit. =^= Engineering we are ready, get a move on it. =^= she stated in a no nonsense tone of voice. She then tapped the badge and directed her next comment to Lieutenant Gworl =^= Belay that for now Lieutenant Gworl. Science deck region is about to be an unpleasant area to be in without proper environmental hazard suits. I have Engineering shutting down the ventilation units and purge them. When you do get here though, please take care of the gentlebeing banging on the science lab doors; it is annoying me. Use caution most likely to be infected. =^=

-Lieutenant Kitiuas Thenis, CSO
Posting Tom’s Reply:
=^= Lieutenant Thenis, Engineering, shutting down the system now. =^= With a gesture, he gave a green light to NEng Meylan. As he swept the touch panel, Ensign relayed to the CIC and reported the situation briefly for what happened there and what have done so far.

=^= We disabled the alert status from here. It was shown as an alert as if the ship was under attack, microscopically. =^= He patched.

Ens Little, Eng

As the red alert subsided and the voice of Lieutenant Gworl crackled through the comms, Saoir continued to bang on the doors of the science labs. The young Cadet looked at her command officer and said, “Maybe we should let him in. He seems sane and he could be in danger if he stays out there.” However she wasn’t going to make a move until the Lieutenant okayed it.

Toussaint, Scientist

Thenis looked at the cadet, “If you touch that door Cadet, I will have you personally scrubbing every single inch of the Leviathan’s decks with a sonic toothbrush. Your job is to verify if any of these lovely little botanical treats we have, are responsible for our predicament; and if so how we can fix it. I’ll handle the loonies.”

-Lieutenant Kitiuas Thenis, CSO

Alison had been on the move since early morning. She found what ever was going on on the ship hadn’t caught up with her yet. She had been spending alot of her off time searching the ship for her experiment. If it was anything like Audrey the ship and everyone on board could be in danger, and she had to act fast. She rushed into the labs just in time to over hear the Cso. “Sir! I don’t think it is a fungus you’re looking for!” She said as she took a moment to catch her breath.

Kane science Officer

By the Thousand Gods thought Kit as Kane came barging into the science lab, allowing the Saoir into the lab as well “You two get into a isolation suits Now, brace for ventilation and purging. Lieutenant Kane you just broke protocol by coming into the lab and allowed a possibly infected individual into the lab as well; you best have a damn good reason.”

-Lieutenant Kitiuas Thenis, CSO

OCC: Fixed the spilt.

Saoir dashed in after Kane, tucking and rolling into the lab. He looked awkward as he did due to his height and size. His arms flailed as she came to a sitting stop. He glared at the CSO. “I am not infected.” he slowly stood with his hands in the air. He didn’t want to alarm the Orion woman. He’d seen how she’d taken out Zallbred in the conference room. He slowly spoke, “I was infected, but…that is what I have been trying to tell you. I admit, I am still experiencing some anxiety but the effects of whatever it seems to be temporary and wear off.” He looked at Kane and said, “A fungus? That seems likely, but how do you know this?”

Saoir, Transporter NE

“I’m not sure how or why it’s happening, but I have reason to believe it’s being caused by an escaped science experiment I was conducting.” She took a couple of deep breaths before continuing. “If you ever had the chance to meet Audrey you would understand. I believe she is the key to ending whatever this madness is.”

Kane, science

Kit shook her head “Get in your isolation suits NOW” snapped Kit. “This is not a drill. Once you two are suited up I will then hear your explanations.” Thenis would also use the time to rack her brain on what ‘science project’ Lieutenant Kane was working on. In the background very faintly could be heard the hiss of air being vented to space, soon to be followed by a Level One; Category IA Disinfection and Sterilization gas, forcefully circulated for fifteen minutes. Then another venting of the gas into space, before normal atmosphere was returned.

Lieutenant Kitiuas Thenis, CSO

Saoir nodded and proceeded to the equipment closet to get a biohazard suit. “Your plant needs to be locked up in the containment and whatever else you were working on” he hissed at Kane, “Based on all the chaos it’s caused, it or they are clearly a dangerous specimans.”

Saoir, Transporter NE

“Lieutenant Kane, just what were you working on, and how did it get away or lose?” demanded Kitiuas. Gods help me this is going to be one hell of an explanation to give to the Captain. she thought. “Mister Saoir, I do not need any comments from you at this moment. Also DO NOT think I have forgotten your disregard of my orders.” stated Kit. She then turned back to Lieutenant Kane “I’m waiting for your explanation Lieutenant.” Kitiuas could feel a headache coming on, good news was the craziness feeling had dissipated.

Lieutenant Kitiuas Thenis, CSO

“Very well.” said Saoir, “I have nothing else to add to the matter anyway.” As he put on his suit he responded to her comment about his disregarding his orders, “Lieutenant, I only disregarded your orders because my life was in danger. which you clearly disregarded.”
