Misana sat there for a second, anger rising. Shaking her head a bit, she sighed and immediately calmed herself down from wanting to punch the doctor, she then smiled softly.

“You’re not asking any questions ma’am, you asked one and made up your mind. Now if I told you that I work great under stress, would you even believe me? You have already decided that I’m not fit to work here, yet I’m here”

She then stood up and made a motion with her hand which caused her canine companion to quickly rise to her feet and walk forward.

“But I’ll listen to your demands”

The doctor sighed and turned to Misana, “Ensign, sit down. I’m going to give you a chance to explain why you are experiencing hand tremors, which according to my knowledge are the symptom of over 100 different very serious medical issues, and pain enough to grip the biobed. Leave no detail out, every point will be important.” Though the doctor’s voice is raspy and worn, she can still use a sense of command presence to show she is no mood for games.

She sighed but nodded, and sat back down.

“I was a police officer on Cait… I was a bloody great one too. But one day there was a case that had gotten, out of hand to say the least. I was chasing after a criminal, and lost him down an alleyway… When I turned around because of a noise I thought it was him, and well at the time I thought I saw a phaser… So I pulled the trigger”

She took a break, looking down on the ground. Taking a deep breath, Misana looked back up at the doctor, clear signs of discomfort on her face.

“Turns out, I shot a civilian. Lost my mind after that, they discharged me and sent me to Starfleet… Like a second chance, of course I had to prove myself. The counsellors said that I developed psychosomatic pain in the area I shot the civilian, and because of all this I also developed a rather annoying intermittent tremor. When you scared me, you sort of took me back to that moment… When you asked the question, I started to remember that day I was sent to Starfleet… How I resented them for pushing me away. Ma’am I wouldn’t be here if I wasn’t capable of doing my job right”

Doctor Fey just sat and listened to the Catian tell her story, explain why she experienced pain and tremors. When the story was completed, the doctor sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. “As you stated, the pain was psychosomatic. Do you understand what that means? It means you suffer physical pain for mental trauma. I can only treat physical issues which according to my equipment, you don’t have any of. This is why I said you needed to go talk to the counselor. I can’t help you unless the Counselor prescribes you medication. Then I can make suggestions for better alternatives based on my analysis of your physical being. As long as your problems remain mental, you are beyond my help. So please, go see the Counselor. If she clears you, then I shall also clear you. If she prescribes you medication, I will give you that medication then clear you.” So in the end, she looped right back to her initial description. She knew she couldn’t help right after the scans were shown to be clear.

She sighed and nodded. Misana had always been too irrational when faced with criticism, always jumping to conclusions where there wasn’t none. And always making something out of nothing.

“I apologise, I don’t take too kindly to feeling like I’m being judged too quickly. I made an assumption that you were telling me I wasn’t capable of doing my job correctly because of my misfortunes, I now realise I was incorrect”

She slid off of the biobed and walked toward the sickbay door.

Doctor Kastil didn’t attempt to stop her this time, she returned to her projects.

She dipped her head at the doctor in respect “Va’io-sa goodbye” and with that she walked out of sickbay, her canine companion at her side
