Echo looked at himself in the mirror. His dirty-blonde hair tied up in a loose and messy ponytail. His daily ritual of staring into his reflection has so far come up with no information on who he was–or why he was here. The only thing he knew is that he was glad to be here.After snapping himself out of his mind, he grabbed the outer shirt of his uniform and tossed it on, bringing his appearance to rights as he slipped out of the door of his quarters into the bustling corridor. ‘Bustling’ was the exact opposite of what the corridor actually was, which was quite quiet, something that continuously got on Echo’s nerves, even in the academy. Everything was always so quiet.
He stepped into the lift, which was also quiet. “Bridge.” He said, glad to break up the monotony and quiet. He muttered to himself that he really needed to convince the CO to play some light music through the ship. As he thought about this, the lift slowed to a stop, and he stepped out onto the bridge, glad the noise was present. He walked over to the ready room, ringing the chime.
Ens. Echo
Inside the ready room, Captain Zachariah Cobb was engaged in matters of extreme importance. He was eating breakfast. Finding his own quarters too sterile and far too quiet, he had developed a habit of arriving for his shift a good couple of hours before his assigned time and, with the overnight duty officer still watching the bridge, retreating to his ready room with a large raktajino, a stream of the days news from Terran and an oversized plate of eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, tomatoes and hot, buttered toast.
As the door chime sounded, he had just placed a huge forkful of bacon into his mouth, so lingered a few moments longer than would be deemed polite before answering with a swallow, “Come in!”

As Echo stepped into the room, he stopped. “Am I interrupting something, sir? If so I can come back later.” He said, gesturing to the door that just closed behind him.
