He was technically the person she was to report to, so it was not only important for her to get an accurate sense of who “Jack” Creer was, but also an idea how receptive he would be to her. After all, she came with very open assignment parameters, fairly high clearance and a lot of latitude to do her job as he saw fit. She was a mission specialist and despite there being people on the ship with data skills, there wasn’t anyone who could or would do what she did. Add two months of studying spec specs, researching the Delta Quadrant and reviewing any relevant files, and Faye felt she had a good grasp of her starting point. But would he? Would he be the kind to get overly involved? Or would he be the kind to sit back and let things happen? This meeting would answer those questions and others.Tightening the elastic that held her teal hair, Faye drew in a slow breath and pressed the chime.

Jack heard the door chime and looked up. He had only one person scheduled for today, a Faye Calloway from what the Captain sent down to him. He knew a tiny bit, but was aware Balian wanted me to go over the full details with her. “Come in in” Jack said waiting to see if it was indeed Faye or if another crewmen had needed his assistance.
Faye stepped in and quickly took in the contents of the room and the person occupying it. Of all her meetings today, this was probably the most important one and she knew she needed to get things right.
Once the door opened, she wouldn’t see much difference between this office and others, expect for two old earth model cars from the 21st century on display as well as family photos on shelves. Among the most frequent photo subject was several of him and Chief Tactical Officer Celina Rodriguez, many of which dated back to when he was undercover with Starfleet Intelligence. The photos never became classified, so he had little issue displaying those.

“Commander Creed, I am Lieutenant Faye Calloway, your new mission specialist. Given the needs of my assignment, while I am working mostly within the science department, I was told I would be reporting to you,” she said simply, her stormy grey-green eyes taking him in keenly. She had an analytical gaze and yet her dyed teal hair tended to add a flavour of fun to her. Or at least that was what she was finding. It seemed to go over better with people than her penchant for black. But the hair was deceiving as Faye was not a light and breezy person and it wouldn’t take the Intelligence trained man very long to figure that out.

“Greetings Lieutenant.” Ardashir stood as he offered his hand. “I have been going over profile, quite impressive. From the Atlantis I see? How is Captain Kelly? I remember working with her a few years back, she was always… interesting. Hadn’t heard much from her since then till I looked over your transfer sheet. Wasn’t even aware they let her have a ship.
Faye shook his hand with well worn hands that had seen a lot of work. “Well, I don’t know Captain Kelly like you probably might. I only met Captain Shultz once and it wasn’t my proudest moment. But hey, it brought me here, so it was good in the end. She seemed to be doing well enough though.”
Moving from his seat Jack made his way to his replicator looking over at Faye, “Would you care for anything?” he asked.

“A glass of water would be good right about now.” Her meds could give her a dry mouth so she was almost always sipping on something. She sat in one of the chairs, relaxing a bit into the seat.

Jack came back, mint tea and water in tow as he handed hers and came back around to his desk to sit down as he motioned for her to do the same. “So, what can you tell me of your mission Lieutenant?” he asked her, wondering what all might have not been in the docket.
