Claire gave a smile. “Thank you Sir. I could do with a chance to get to know the ship. We had nothing like this back home. I would also like access to the armoury to store my personal rilfe.” Claire said reaching down to her case.
Ensign Winter sec
“You bet,” Logan agreed. “I might point out that on general principle, I tend to frown on non standard away team equipment. So. What do you have there?”

Charley placed the case on the desk and place her fingers in the finger print and DNA security lock. After it beeps 3 times and turn green 3 locks click open and she opens the case. She removed a purple cloth to revile a compact rifle made of a dark grey alloy. It didn’t have the refinement of the standard rifle but it was tough and ready. It a custom set of optics on the top and the power settings just above the trigger where it was in easy reach of her thump. On the stock had a engraving of a wolf head. She picked up the rifle and holds it out for Logan to take making sure to keep it pointing towards the floor. She new it was safe as there was no power cell in it and the manual safely was on but weapon safety was drilled into her.
“Sir this is Wolf Defence. It as been mine since I was able to hold it. On my world everyone as there own rifle was we carry them everywhere with us as a defence ageist the wild beast that live around us. ” She gave a smile. “It felt strange not being able to carry it when I left my world. It was as if I had lost a part of my body but I got used to. I am aware of fleet views about none standard weapons and I do not expect to take it with me on away missions. I am able to use standard tools. I just like to have it with me. However it is still a weapon and needs to be stored in a weapons locker. As I do not have access to one in my quarters I am aware it needs to be stored in the armoury. Sir.”
Charley (Sec)
“Does it need to be stored?” Logan pondered. “I’ve got some personal weapons of my own on display in my quarters. Some obsolete, like old swords and other melee weapons. Also some antique firearms.”

Charley looked a bit surprised. “Sir? I thought that all weapons should be store away? I would like to have it in my quarters as it is a link to home.”
Charley (Sec)
“I don’t see why not,” Logan agreed. “I know of a crewman in Records who keeps a regular crossbow on his wall. With practice, they can be almost as deadly as a hand phaser at medium range.”

She gave a smile. Happy to be able to have it displayed in her quarters. When she was at the academy she hated not having it with her but she understood. “Thank you sir. You will have to join me on the range at some point so you have a proper look.”
Charley (Sec)
“You bet,” Logan said. “Is there anything left before I dismiss you to go do your other check ins?”
