=/\= Calloway this is Wynter =/\= came through hot on the heels of the Ops chief, =/\= we’re already monitoring you, if you get into difficulties just say so and we can shut down the draw from here from Junction 86. Also, I feel like Pepperoni Pizza today, just saying. Wynter out, and good luck Faye. =/\=

Max switched off the comm with a grin, and turned to his Engineers who had brought up that section on the monitors. Since many parts of the EPS grid had been affected by the trip through the wormhole his team had kept careful watch on the power relays for any signs of stress or fluctuations. Still, any issues with an EPS point was rather serious so he sat back and watched the readings himself.

Lt Cmdr Wynter, CE

Faye snorted at the replies and simply went to work. She had no intention of making him pizza, but she also couldn’t entirely predict what would happen. Simulations were simply best guesses at how something could go and it was impossible to account for every single tiny variable, even when you tried your damnedest.

Working with an engineering tricorder and decoupler, she made some fine-tuned changes to the set-up she was about to initialize. Frowning slightly at the readouts, Faye tapped her commbadge. =/\=Calloway to Engineering.=/\=

=/\=Engineering here, go ahead =/\= NE Frankenstein said in his odd swiss like accent as he peered over console readings.

=/\=Can you folks kindly shunt power from junction Section 14-Epsilon-7? Just divert or decrease power flow by about 55% for the next while,=/\= she requested.

~Faye Calloway, Data Scientist

=/\=Can do =/\= came back his answer, and moments later the requested power was diverted from the requested section and into the nearby junctions so as not to degrade the running of the ships functions. NE Frankenstein looked over the energy readings and smiled to himself as the nearby conduits absorbed the extra power, as if they were a living being hungrily feeding on the energy. daydreaming aside, Frankenstein returned to his everyday job.

Lt Cmdr Wynter, CE

=/\=Thank you. Calloway out.=/\=

Faye surveyed the connections and then grabbed her calibration tool. Laying on the deck, she shimmied herself into the conduit space, turning her head so she could watch the delicate process she had to go through to get everything aligned just right. The flicker of different lights was reassuring as it told her a great deal without having to rely on a tricorder to tell her what was what.

Two minutes later, that part was done. Reaching for her PADD, she double checked the number she had calculated (and re-calculated to be sure) and reached for her calibrator. She adjusted another component and surveyed her work. Satisfied, Faye made a couple more adjustments and then powered up the cylindrical device that she was testing. With the shunted power, she was watching for the low voltage to start funnelling through so she could bring the whole system on line.

A moment later, a wash of bright light blinded her right before a wash of pain hit her. She could smell smoke and knew something in the power system had blown. But she couldn’t see anything and then… a burning sensation spread fiercely not unlike the experiments her Tal Shiar tormentors inflicted. Stuck with her head and shoulders in the access point, Faye couldn’t move if she tried at the moment. She almost wished the pain would increase a bit so she could pass out, but alas that wasn’t where she was at. Soon, if she were lucky, there would be some sort of endorphin rush. She couldn’t see anything and the burns on her face made it difficult to tell if she was in danger from fire or anything. There was also this ringing in her ears.

Her hands moved spastically as she tried to reach for anything to ground herself from the dizzying feeling she was experience. Vertigo times ten. Ahh, there the endorphins were! If she could just control her movements through the pain to find her commbadge…

Elsewhere, alerts of a significant power surge and resulting explosion popped up in Engineering and on the Bridge.

~Faye Calloway, Data Scientist

Walker was sitting at his station on the bridge, looking over the ships systems, when the alert of the power surge came through. It was only a second later that the power systems in that area blew out.

“Whoa....” He quickly brought the maintenance schedule for the area, he sure hoped that no one was in that area. Of course there was, there was an officer down there, why did they ever let an officer touch the systems. Only about a quarter of the time did they actually know what they were doing, the rest of the time, they just thought they did and ended up breaking things most of the time.

=^= Darach to Sickbay, I need a med team at the access point for junction 86. I’ll meet you there. We had an accident, and not sure how bad injuries will be. =^=

Grabbing a tricorder, Walker motioned to one of the techs on the bridge to cover him while he went to check out what happened.

It didn’t take long to figure out where to go when he arrived, the smell of burning electrics was in the air. As he opened the access panel, it only got stronger as smoke started to come out. He quickly covered his nose and mouth with his sleeve before he ducked in.

“Is anyone in here?” he called out.

Not hearing a reply Walker flipped open his tricorder and did a quick scan. It didn’t take long to get an answer to his question, it was picking up one human life sign just up ahead. He started pulling off his uniform jacket, and wrapping it around his hands, to try and insulate his hands as he crawled in, in case there was any current running through the decking, as the med team came running up.

“Get prepped, possibly one injury, electrical burns by the smell of it. I’ll drag the person out.” The med techs just nodded as he ducked back into the jefferies tube.

The smoke didn’t obscure his vision itself, but it burned his eyes, making it hard for him to see into the jefferies tube. Instead he had to rely on his hands to try and find whoever was in here.

“If you can hear me, call out,” he said as he continued through the tube. It didn’t take long before he hit the foot of Faye. By this point, he could barely see through the pain of the burning smoke in his eyes, and depending on what the risks were from the electrical burst, they didn’t have time for him to assess how the officer was doing. Time was not on their side.

Grabbing onto her ankle, he started pulling back towards the access tube. As he finally got to the access hatch, the med team reached in to help drag her out, as Walker moved to the side and coughed. He was definitely going to pay for this later.

=^= Darach to Engineering. Vent junction 86, and for the love of god, shut down all electrical conduits in this section. =^=

As his eyes cleared, he looked over at the officer he had just pulled out. She definitely had some pretty bad burns. “How bad is it doc?”
