The Ops Chief walked into the lounge and ordered dinner. He took a seat next to the window and looked out, watching the stars pass by. After a few moments, he looked down at his dinner and, with a small shrug, began to eat.

Hammor, COO

William was starving his first day and cleaning his office. He had thought about just getting something from the replicator in his quarters butreconsidered since he hadn’t met very much of the crew yet. What better place than the communal lounge where he could observe his crewmates in thier more relaxed and natural environment. It would be good to also note who wasn’t present as well. William freshened up a bit so his golden wavy hair was a still a bit damp as he made to the lounge way with the help of his map.
When he walked in he saw the lounge was packed with crew which was of little surprise since it was right after a shift change. After collecting his plate William noticed there was a spot open at the table next to a rather impressive looking Orion. With a smile he walked over with his plate of some kind of meat with gravy with rice.
“Good evening, would you mind if I shared your table,” William asked kindly his british accent thick from nerves.

William Cunningham-Civilian Counselor

OOC: Are you waiting for someone specific to join you or can William come say hello? Just didn’t want to upset any plans.-Mary

OOC: Open to anyone! Please feel free to stop by!
OOC: Thanks!

Daggum looked up at the unexpected question and quickly swallowed the bite of fish he had in his mouth while simultaneously nodding his head and motioning for the man to have a seat. As soon as he could, he smiled and said “Sorry, mouthful. Please.” and he held out a large green hand which had several scars across the knuckles and back. “Lieutenant Daggum Hammor. Operations Chief. “

Hammor, COO

William smiled with a nod in recoginition, pleased to have been recieved so warmly. He knew it was sometimes hard for people to accept new crewmembers when they were worked with a tight knit group for so long. He sat down and took a deep breath in relief.
“A pleasure to meet you. My name is William Cunningham the ship’s new counselor. I’m civilian so still trying to get my barrings. Thank you for allowing me to share your table,” William said sincerely and then he took a few bites of his own dinner before he decided to speak again.
“Cheif of operations is a big job, I’ll bet it keeps you on your toes,” Willam said casually, meaning it he couldn’t imgaine the stress the man must endure. Though from the look of his new friend he wasn’t one to break under pressure.

William Cunningham-Counselor

Hammor smiled a bit and said “It has it’s moments. That’s for sure. But it keeps life interesting as well. Every blessing has a curse, and vice-versa. Right, Counselor?” Daggum replied and took a bite of the steak that sat on his plate.

Hammor, COO

William chuckled and gave Hammor a nod in agreement. “I have found that most things are more complicated than they first appear whether they are a blessing or a curse usually depends on our perspective at the time.” William took another bite of his food, beef with gravy and rice, and then washed it down with some water.
“For now I am willing to count being on the Manhattan and having dinner with a new friend a blessing,” William mused once he was able to speak again.
“Perhaps you can help me, I’ve been trying to figure out where to go to get aquainted with the crew in a more relaxed setting, and the lounge is nice but usually people are here for a quick meal and then head out again. Where do people generally go to hang out to when they have free time,” William asked thinking perhaps the more direct route of askin directions were in order here since the opportunity presented itself.

William Cunningham-Counselor

OOC: I’ll be joining in if that is okay.

As Gwyn walked by she heard the counselor ask his question and then walked over to him and replied, “Working.” She took a seat and smiled. “We happen to do that a lot on this ship. Gets repetitive sometimes.”

Ensign Gwyn Frazer Engineer

OOC: Sure! Glad to have you!-Mary

William looked at the woman, an Ensign by the insignia on her uniform. It was nice to recieve such a warm reception so far while trying to find his place on this large ship.
“I have noticed workaholic tendencies in Star-fleet crew members, the Athena has proved no exception,” William said with a grin and then he offered his hand.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m William Cunningham the ships counselor.”

William Cunningham-Counselor

“I’m Gwyn. The new engineer. That’s something we have in common.” She said shaking his hand. “So, a civilian as a ships counselor. I’ve never seen that before. Of course, I’ve been on very few ships.” She said hiding her cybernetic hand from both of them.
