As Walker looked around, he flipped open a tricorder and checked the conduit. He was looking at the rigging that Calloway had started, hoping to figure out what had caused the short. But as he looked closer, something wasn’t adding up.
“Do you mind if I see that device? Because this isn’t adding up,” he asked holding out his hand towards Wynter. “I was looking at the connections there, and it looks like she was getting ready to hook something up to the conduit, probably that device. But why wasn’t power turned off in this junction? I saw the note in the docket that there was a maintenance request for this junction, but that was it. If I was going to be doing work on an EPS conduit, there is not much reason not to have power diverted, at least temporarily.” Especially because there was no reason to be playing with that much live power when you had the option to turn it off. “Unless of course she was trying to divert attention from what was going on here. But then why was it on the schedule?”

“Power to this junction Was diverted, I saw to it myself. It was sent to nearby points which also overloaded when the surge happened. Faye requested power was reduced by an amount which was followed, I can only assume right now that she underestimated the safe level of power she needed for whatever she was doing, and until we get a team in here to assess what exactly she’s done, and reverse it back to normal operating standard, I have no idea why it overloaded.”
Picking up the device, he looked it over for a second then passed it to Darach. “We can’t do much with it in here with only a tricorder, lets take it down to Engineering and put it through some scans and tests. Find out what it is supposed to do. As of right now, Mr Darach, that item is confiscated as an unregistered piece of tech that she was trying to hook up to our systems. The CO might know what it is, but it wasn’t on any declaration I saw or signed off on, only that she was doing work in here as part of her assignment.” Passing the device to the Operations Chief, Max made his way out of the tube and took off his breather.
=/\= Engineering this is the Chief, send a repair crew to the surge site. We need to find out what Faye was doing in here and repair it. Keep power levels diverted until all the junctions are checked. =/\=
Then, Max turned to watch Darach with the device. “Lets go find out what it does.”

CE“Agreed Commander,” Walker said looking over the device. “I’d be curious to get a better look inside of it to see what it really can do. With a good grasp on the device, Walker followed him out of the jefferies tube. As soon as he stepped out, he pulled off the rebreather and took another look at the device.
“Lead the way Commander. Where do you want to start?”
