Arrival and Check in with the CO

Posted April 1, 2019, 2:59 p.m. by Ensign Tyv Ch'qirross (Security Officer) (Michael McDowell)

(Firstly let me apologize for this taking so long, work has been getting the better of me for the last few months as I’ve somewhat changed fields and have been on a non-stop rollercoaster that is Sales Engineering working/learning with a product I know nothing about. But I should be in a good place to finally be able to post more consistently!)

Tyv wasn’t the most easiest person to get along with and he was pretty sure the pink skin he traveled with was sick of him by the time he stepped off the shuttle into the shuttlebay. Almost as he took his bag off the shuttle and looked around it was already beginning to perform it’s procedures for departure. As he looked around for a Federation ship it wasn’t half bad. Surely it was no Andorian Warship, but it would do. His antennae swiveled around his head getting an idea of the location as he headed towards the interior of the ship. He adjusted the Hrisal at his waist. It wasn’t easy getting it accepted as a cultural accessory, but he would be damned if he’d be anywhere without it. After several combative arguments and back and forth from the Andorian embassies to the Academy, they reluctantly allowed him to carry it after he finished with the academy since he was enrolled with the Officer Exchange Program. He didn’t quite fit in with the first few ships he had been with and with nearly everyone he encountered he had to provide the proof that Starfleet allowed him to carry the 60cm long blade that looked similar to a scimitar. He moved a bit of his rough white hair from out of his eyes, he’d have to make sure it gets cut later as he reached a small terminal in the hallway. “Computer, where is the current Captain of this vessel?”

A prompt response indicated that the Captain was currently in his ready room. Though Tyv know protocol was only to check in with the Department Head, Medical, and the Counselor he felt that it was essential to check in with the Captain of the ship in order to understand and see who he was serving under as well as for him to get an idea of who will be serving under him. It was somewhat of an Andorian state of mind, be he knew it was only for the betterment of everyone. Some few arguments before about how it was unnecessary or a waste of time always fell upon deaf ears with him.

His lifestyle was rather simplistic and more or less always had been militaristic. He did not have very many personal belongings aside from the Hrisal at his waist. He picked up the one dufflebag of his belongings and followed the corridors until he silently ended up in front of the ready room. He smoothly pressed the chime and awaited a response from within.
