<SNIPPAGE FOR CLEANING>

Without looking his direction, Cochrane said “Easy, Ensign. We don’t know this is an enemy. Could just be a really aggressive high-five on their part.”

Sensors continued to show that the scans originated from a single point, just less than a light year away, on a course of 010. A small rectangular object a little over eight meters in length.

Logan exited from the turbolift and entered the bridge. He went to main security console to verify that weapons and shields were at the yellow alert ready status. He asked, “All they’ve done is appear and scan us?”

CoS

“So far. But the power behind those scans is almost off the charts… and directed at all ships in the vicinity.”

Weapons were charged and on standby. Torpedo systems were on ready alert, though per Yellow Alert protocol, tubes had not been loaded. Shield generators were charged and ready to be deployed.

Jack had left his quarters with Celina as the pair had made there way. Normally Ardashir could be fairly laid back but emergencies he always kicked it up a notch. Exiting the bridge he let Celina go to her station as he came to the front taking his. “Sir what do we have?” Jack asked, not waiting for the Captain to stop he brought up the console and began reading back the information coming to them in order to speed things up.

Creed, XO

Nodding at the XO’s question, Cochrane said “Mr. Creed. We have an unknown object, possibly a probe, conducting high energy scans of everything in the vicinity. Power levels are massive.”

Celina moved to her station and began to scan the information contained there. With the security chief at his station, Celina did not start shouting out information. Instead, she began to analyze the situation looking at it from all possible angles. This is why she loved her job. You were part of the action but tactile was the long game. Security had to make instantaneous decisions for the most part action and reacting based on gut. She was able to do this yet, the big picture was more her specialty.

Lt. Celina Rodriguez CTO

Her scans revealed the same information the others had received. The scans were actively directed at each of the Starships, the Event Horizon station and the neutrino envelope that marked the entrance to the wormhole. More detailed scans of the device revealed an outer shell composed of a composite duranium-tritanium material. The object was emitting neutrino, electromagnetic, magnetronic and multi-phasic energy as a scanning medium. The object was too far away for any visual analysis or in-depth scanning with active short range sensors.

Celina’s console showed the same thing everyone else was reading. The security chief had thier weapons were charged and on standby. Torpedo systems were on ready but not actively loaded into the tubes. Shields were charged and ready to be deployed so the defense of the ship was in good hands. Instead, Celina focused on things to help out the XO and COS. “Sir,” Celina announced, “long range scans shoul the device has an outer shell composed of a duranium-tritanium material. It is scanning the Event Horizon and surrounding areas with a multi-phasic energy beam. It is also emitting neutrino, electromagnetic, magnetronic energy.” Celina knew Riali was already trying to make sense of the science end of things. “I am attempting long-range scans because right now it is too far away for any visual analysis or in-depth scanning with short-range sensors,” she announced to the bridge.

Lt. Celina Rodriguez CTO

Because of the high energy neutrinos being emitted by the device, detailed scans were impossible at this distance. If they wanted a deep scan, they were going to have to move in.

Pursuing her station, Riali tapped the young Ensign’s shoulder, clicking her tongue with a thumb shot towards the turbolift. “You’re relieved, Ensign.” Sliding into his spot, she redirected scans to get a better shot of what they were looking at.

[[Assuming the scans remained the same as stated in the previous post..]]

Considering the neutrinos, Riali chose to focus on the area around the device, suspecting Security and Tactical were already looking into the enemy themself. She wanted to know if there were any other anomalies in its vicinity, or visible indications of where it had come from.

Lt. Deandres, CSO

There were no immediate anomalies detectable at this distance, although there was some distortion from the unusually high energy readings from the device. Manhattan’s sensors detected little other than its random appearance. There was no sign of an entry course and no ion trails that were visible at this distance. Coordination with the other two ships confirmed that the device just seemed to appear. No detected emissions prior to the beginning of the active scan. There was a brief fluctuation on one passive scanner aboard one of the workbees that had drifted out of position, but there was nothing concrete there.

“Helm, whats the status on our departure from the station? I’d rather meet this thing ahead of it getting to us.”

Cochrane, CO

“I’m on it Captain,” Walker said as he slid into the operations station. He signaled the starbase regarding their immediate departure, and opened a channel.

=^= Starbase control this is the Manhattan. We need emergency clearance to break dock to intercept the incoming probe. =^=

WO Darach - COO

=^= Manhattan, this is Winchester, Event Horizon control, docking clamps are released, you are free to depart. Vigilante and Chisca Bay are standing by for your orders and we are preparing the Ambassadors runabout for departure through the wormhole. =^=

SGM

“Mr. Darach, plot intercept course to the device, full impulse. Comms. Hail the new arrival, all frequencies. Science, keep scanning and run all data against known Delta Quadrant species and vessels. Tactical. Shields up, weapons on standby. But no hostile actions, defense only.” and he tapped the comms. =/\= Manhattan to Vigilante and Chisca Bay. We are moving to intercept the source of the scans. Hold defensive positions and monitor for arriving craft from other vectors. Event Horizon, hold all departures until absolutely necessary. If the arrival is hostile, we’ll know before you most likely. If hostilities start with us, get the Ambassador out of harms way. Manhattan out. =/\= He then looked around and said “Ok everyone. Let’s go say hello.” and then a thought occurred to him. Looking at the CSO, he said “Lieutenant Deandres. As soon as you get a clear picture, send it to the Event Horizon Station, Ambassador’s office. They can ask the Kazon delegation if they know who it is.”

Cochrane, CO

“Aye, Captain.” Deandres nodded, running a scan through the computer systems to determine if the probe was similar to known Delta Quadrant technology. Doubting they would know for certain until they got a clear image of the device, Riali turned away from the computer. Glancing over sensors, she reconfigured them to try and obtain a higher-resolution picture by scanning for the precense of duranium-tritanium. She hoped they could get into close proximity of the probe for short-range scanning soon.

Lt. Deandres
CSO

At this distance, sensors were unable to determine a power signature beneath the powerful sensor emissions. The intensity of the sensor emissions was similar to six known Delta Quadrant species encountered by the USS Voyager

  • The Hirogen
  • Species 6339 - No Other Designation Available
  • The Sikarians
  • The Vaadwaur
  • The Taresians
  • The Borg

While wandering the halls just to keep busy while not on duty at the moment he could feel the ship undock and walked over to a random porthole to view outside. Sure enough, they had definitely un-docked and had begun turning. The ship wasn’t scheduled to be un-docked or to go anywhere at least according to his notes for a while, so something was definitely up. His forehead scrunched wondering about the cause of it. Unsure of what it was he decided to head to the bridge to learn more about the situation. He started walking with a purpose to the nearest turbo lift to start his way to the bridge.

    Ensign Tyv (Security AC)

OOC: Just as a note, the ship is at Yellow Alert.

    James

OOC: Just read that after I hit enter x_x sorry, I’m slow today! I’ll still head to the bridge anyway though :P

    -Mike

The young Betazoid ensign would have the same pictures flashing on his comms officer console. He felt it necessary to pay attention to he could know how to socialize with whatever was being shown to him, given his telepathy skills.

    Ensign Barvan, Second Comms Officer

SGM

Ensign Barvan saw the results of Lieutenant Deandres’ search as part of his socialization. He’d then search all of USS Voyager’s records on all of the species to see what he would find. What could he find?
