“Mr. Darach, plot intercept course to the device, full impulse. Comms. Hail the new arrival, all frequencies. Science, keep scanning and run all data against known Delta Quadrant species and vessels. Tactical. Shields up, weapons on standby. But no hostile actions, defense only.” and he tapped the comms. =/\= Manhattan to Vigilante and Chisca Bay. We are moving to intercept the source of the scans. Hold defensive positions and monitor for arriving craft from other vectors. Event Horizon, hold all departures until absolutely necessary. If the arrival is hostile, we’ll know before you most likely. If hostilities start with us, get the Ambassador out of harms way. Manhattan out. =/\= He then looked around and said “Ok everyone. Let’s go say hello.” and then a thought occurred to him. Looking at the CSO, he said “Lieutenant Deandres. As soon as you get a clear picture, send it to the Event Horizon Station, Ambassador’s office. They can ask the Kazon delegation if they know who it is.”

Cochrane, CO

“On it Captain,” Walker said as he moved away from the ops console and slid behind the conn. Where in the world was the helmsmen, because he was going to have a long discussion with their duty officer regarding readiness in emergency situations.”

“Aye, Captain.” Deandres nodded, running a scan through the computer systems to determine if the probe was similar to known Delta Quadrant technology. Doubting they would know for certain until they got a clear image of the device, Riali turned away from the computer. Glancing over sensors, she reconfigured them to try and obtain a higher-resolution picture by scanning for the precense of duranium-tritanium. She hoped they could get into close proximity of the probe for short-range scanning soon.

“Sir because of the high energy neutrinos being emitted by the device, detailed scans are impossible at this distance,” Celina reported. “If you wanted a deep scan, we are going to get have to get closer. I am however able to note six different sensor emissions. Lt Deandres, can you help me tease out any specific emission in this mess. I think I am reading one as the Hirogen,” Celina confirmed. After the Hirogen incident with Balian she would know that signature in her sleep. The others she would need help from the science chief.

Lt. Celina Rodriguez.

At this distance, sensors were unable to determine a power signature beneath the powerful sensor emissions. The intensity of the sensor emissions was similar to six known Delta Quadrant species encountered by the USS Voyager

  • The Hirogen
  • Species 6339 - No Other Designation Available
  • The Sikarians
  • The Vaadwaur
  • The Taresians
  • The Borg

While wandering the halls just to keep busy while not on duty at the moment he could feel the ship undock and walked over to a random porthole to view outside. Sure enough, they had definitely un-docked and had begun turning. The ship wasn’t scheduled to be un-docked or to go anywhere at least according to his notes for a while, so something was definitely up. His forehead scrunched wondering about the cause of it. Unsure of what it was he decided to head to the bridge to learn more about the situation. He started walking with a purpose to the nearest turbo lift to start his way to the bridge.

Cochrane looked over his right shoulder at Barvan. “Ensign, I need you to leave science to the science section right now. Ship’s security should be your first priority. Ensure all sections are secured and all sensitive areas have security details deployed at this time. Thank you, Mr. Barvan.” and he then looked at the Ops Chief. “Mr. Darach, time to intercept?”

Cochrane, CO

“Copy, sir,” the Ensign said, while at the same time shifting his computer to camera scans of specific sensitive areas he’d identified when discussing the topic with the CoS. He’d also make sure to very clearly send electronic commands to petty officers to order their troops to areas potentially sensitive to a boarding action.

Ensign Barvan, Security Officer

His visual scanners displayed nothing out of the ordinary. Internal scans detected nothing out of place.

Jack looked at the data at hand as he waited for the answer the Captain had asked. Delta Quadrant had given them a lot of challenges, nothing compared to voyager but on a level they still hadn’t expected at times. “You know from what I remember sir, I don’t like the sounds of that list of species at all. None of them seem like anyone I want to stumble into out her…” Jack said as he took a deep breath.

Creed, XO

“I don’t think we have a choice on who decides to make themselves known, Commander. We just have to play the cards we are dealt the best way we can.” Cochrane said in agreement. “And that list is a bit of a Rogue’s Gallery of Delta Quadrant species, isn’t it? But maybe things have changed a bit since Voyager was here. Who knows? Hope for the best, Commander.” and then he smiled a wry smile, “But plan for the worst.”

Cochrane, CO

“Weapons and defensive systems are still on yellow alert stand by status,” Logan reported from his security console.

CoS

“Current time to intercept is just under 4 hours Captain. The probe is just over a lightyear away.”

OOC: sprinkles magical fairy GM dust to accelerate time

IC:

Two hours later, they crossed the threshold for high density local scans. Just as Manhattans primary short range scanners came to bear, the probe… vanished… There was no indication of warp trails, impulse signatures, detonation, just a low energy subspace spike as the probe vanished.

However, less than forty seconds later, sensor scans began bursting forth from a location 0.75ly in the opposite direction. It was an identical series of sensor emissions, focused more thoroughly against the wormhole neutrino envelope, the Chisca Bay and the still patrolling Avenger. Long range scans confirmed that it appeared to be an identical object, but were unable to confirm anything beyond the original scans, because they were equally out of position.

Cochrane blinked and stood up like he had been shocked. “What the…?!” he asked no one in particular, but then specifically “How did it do that? Scan the area of it’s last known location before it’s… switch. Anything out of the norm, flag it and try and figure out what happened. Helm, bring us around and plot course for intercept. Warp 9. Comms, contact the Avenger and Chisca Bay. Have them move to intercept, but still hold off on aggressive acts. And tell the station to stand down on the prep for the Ambassador’s departure. They can’t out run that thing… if it’s even the same thing. And Science. Run a check of the records from Voyager for anything describing something like we just saw.”

Cochrane, CO

“Do we want to go to red alert and raise the shields, Captain?” Logan asked.

CoS

OOC: Tyv would have made it to the bridge during the magical acceleration time :D

IC: Tyv was standing by at one of the nearby security stations, but the oddities of the way this probe maneuvered prompted him to search the database for any object/probe/ship that was capable of temporal or spacial displacement that perhaps might not have directly aligned with the possible transmissions types they documented previously. It was indeed possible that they might have just encountered something new?
