“By all means, join me,” she said with amusement, pivoting and placing her black socked feet on the floor. The woman was older, middle-aged, probably in her late fifties or early sixties. But the only evidence to that were the lines around her eyes and smaller ones around her face. Her hair, a nondescript dark brown, showed no greys and her body looked very fit. Dressed in plain black trousers and a t-shirt, she matched her casual demeanour, though her grey-blue eyes gazed at him sharply, deeply assessing.

“I wasn’t sure you would come.”

A young security ensign could be seen loitering in the crew quarters reading what seems to be a PADD.

Ensign Barvan, Security

OOC: Luke first, this is just a side sim and second this is someone’s quarters. You wouldn’t have wandered in without paigeing the door. Third this is in the starbase not the ship either. I am going to ignore this as it makes no sense here remember to read entire threads to understand the scene and know if you should or should not jump in.

IC: “Well… you did poise an interesting request…” Jack said but not showing too much information on his face. He didn’t know this woman and still felt on high alert. This could be a trap, yet Jack was prepared for that. If it wasn’t though he needed to know. Things had been unraveling fast and this felt for certain like something that could help him solve the mysterious he had.

“That I did,” she said knowingly. Inhaling slowly, she felt her lungs fill to capacity before she let the breath out slowly.

“We have a mutual acquaintance and concern. And that concern is harming someone that matters to me. So my problem is potentially yours, especially since you are the first officer of the Manhattan. So… I need your help.”

~?

“Seems everyone is needing my help lately. I haven’t been this popular in yours. So… what do you need my help with. You are awfully informed which is one of the few reasons I am still here. Doesn’t quite seem like a trap, but you can never be too cautious either. So who is our acquaintance pray tell?” Jack said as he said across from her in a seat, he eyed her carefully but he was still scanning the room with his eyes. Much of the room had been scanned before hand but he didn’t know if there was things below the surface.

She hadn’t changed the decor at all and it was entirely as bare as new crew quarters typically were. She had stashed what possessions she had with her away so they weren’t visible and there were no obvious monitoring equipment. But then again, he had to know she had put up some protections for herself. There were no bugs but suddenly a very low grade disruption field went up. Not enough to trip the sensors to be detectable outside the room, but enough to keep prying eyes and ears from getting the scoop on what was happening in the room. She used a standard emitter, one that had a frequency he’d probably recognize and know was from Intelligence.

The woman inhaled slowly and regarded Jack. “Faye Calloway. She’s in trouble, but I think you already know that.”

~?

“Faye…” Jack asked as he felt himself tense up as he looked at her closely. “What do you know about her, who are you?” Jarred asked as he felt himself grip the phaser he had in his back. “Why should I trust you?” he asked her as he needed more. This woman seemed to expect him to trust her just cause she knew someone he suspected as a spy wasn’t going to work this way.

Creed, XO
