I will accesss any prressent data we have on one of the conssoless in the lab.” Sheriye nodded goodbye and made her way out to the lab proper. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Upon reaching a bank of consoles and viewers she accessed the padd and skimmed its information before activating one of the consoles to request the current mission parameters. She noted that they were currently in negotiations with the Hirogen and providing an update on their holoprograms. That did not interest her very much. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : What was more interesting was the gravity well they were currently staying well away from. She scanned the information sent down from the bridge. Also it appeared they were answering a distress call from an unknown planet. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : She downloaded the information that they had on scans of the planet. Now this was much more interesting. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : ‘The planet was oxygen and nitrogen based with breathable air, several bodies of water, however there were no indications of civilizations and if there was a civilization, it was very primitive.’ : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “Classs M, ” She murmured to herself. “No indicationss of civilization, then how arre they ssending a disstress ssignal?” She accessed the long range sensors to see if she could fine tune the distress call and find out where it was coming from. Did the inhabitants have a cloaked settlement? Where they hiding on ships around the planet? She scanned for any unusual energy signatures. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Sheriye Sci : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Peyton came over to work with Sheriye “I was questioning that as well.” She said “What about looking for tachyon particles that might indicate a cloaking device or soemthing like that.” : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Grant (sci) : : : : : : : : : : : Sheriye nodded and tapped that into her parameters for the sensors. : : : : : : : : : : : The distress signal was coming from the northern pole of the planet, it was very faint and was becoming weaker as they continued looking for the site. Sheriye would find a larger power signature about 5 miles from the point of the distress signal, it was unusual for the area as there were no other power signatures in the area. : : : : : : : : : : : : Discovery Mouse : : : : : : : : : : “Ssignal iss coming frrom the Norrth Pole rregion and weakening but therre iss a larrgerr one apprroximately 5 miles away.” Sheriye mumbled as she interpreted the information the sensors were bringing in. She tried to fine tune the sensors to find out what was in both regions while sending the information up to the bridge to the CSO. : : : : : : : : : : Sheriye Sci : : : : : : : : As they watched the signal faded into nothing, the second signal continued to be strong. The gravity well was pulling the planet closer to it’s center. : : : : : : : : Discovery Mouse : : : : : : As the data continued to flow into the scientists’ consoles, the CSO would find himself out of his former preoccupation, and into this issue that continued to culminate. Walking back through the doors and into the laboratory, Heinrich observed the feelings of the room, before calling out to everyone and no one in particular. : : : : : : “Someone, report? What have we got going on here?” : : : : : : The German was handed a PADD on his way to his office by Ensign Klause, before he stopped by the door to turn back to the room, awaiting a response to his questions. : : : : : : Lieutenant Heinrich Zimmermann, : : : Chief Science Officer : : : : “We have been following two ssignalss on the planet in the Norrtherrn rregion, ssirr. One hass dissappearred, the otherr hass not.” Sheriye paused as she checked a new reading.”Ssirr, it doess appearr that the pull frrom the grravity well is mosst definitely moving the planet. How could a grravity well be strrong enough to pull a planet in?” She shook her head in consternation. : : : : Sheriye Sci : : Peyton glanced at Sheriye “It’s possible that there is something on the planet that has destabilized it’s orbit making it more susceptible to the gravity well, but as Sheriye said one signal has gone silent while the other has not.” She set up another series of scans to look for any radiation that might mask bio signs or any thing on the surface itself. : : Grant (sci) : Sheriye frowned at Grant’s suggestion,”That would have to be a verry big ssomething.” She muttered.

The CSO tapped the PADD a few times, skimming over the details, before the junior scientists began speaking. Looking up and nodding in understanding of their report, Heinrich began to walk over to the nearest console, to take a closer look at the current preliminary data that was available to the crew. Finding it all very underwhelming and uninformative, the German wished to rectify this issue posthaste, ordering his team of scientists to correct matters.

: “Right. I want full sensor sweeps of both locations, immediately - I want to know absolutely everything we can find out about everything within a 5 kilometre radius of those two sites, as soon as possible. Once the scans are complete, have the computer analyse the data as soon as it is made available, cross referencing with any historical data we have on hand.” : Sheriye nodded though she didn’t speak as she followed the CSO’s instructions and added to the scans she already had going.

After Zimmermann had finished stating his orders to the present scientists, he finished his time on the console by adding a few final taps with a decorative flourish. Continuing his original poking and prodding of the PADD, the CSO read a few more lines, before deciding to contact the CO. Tapping his commbadge, he activated a line directly to the bridge, speaking once again in his trademark Berliner accent.

: =/\=”Captain. If we don’t already have plans in place, I’d like to suggest we form an away team to investigate the sites, on the ground. There’s only so much our sensors can do if there is something actively trying to avoid being scanned, which my team and I believe to be the case.”=/\= : During this time, Ensign Klause had brought Zimmermann yet another PADD, this time with a crew roster for the science department. Tapping down the list whilst giving a thankful nod to Bella, Heinrich worked to create a list of crew to suggest to accompany each away team. : Lieutenant Heinrich Zimmermann, Chief Science Officer

Balian considered this for a moment, =^=Have we analyzed the gravity issues for the safety of an Away team? Can we beam down, I doubt the shuttles can bear the strain=^= Balian asked in return. If there were people in need it was his job to attempt a rescue if possible, but not at the expense of his own people.

Heinrich pondered the hypothetical for a moment, before yet again moving back to the console to read the preliminary data. Still all too uninformative. Brilliant. This was going to take some educated guesswork - not out of character for a CSO, of course!

Standing up straight once again, Zimmermann swiped along the PADD in his hand, and sent a list of crewmembers to the captain’s console. =/\=”Unfortunately, sir, I would suggest transporting is not an option. With the active interference of the two sites, it puts our transport at risk. Not to mention we’d be beaming in completely blind. Furthermore, I don’t think we could beam all of the equipment I’d like to bring, in one sitting. No, I certainly suggest bringing a shuttle would be recommended, if you could allocate an experienced pilot.”=/\=

Heinrich handed back to the senior lab tech the crew manifest PADD, and continued to watch the data flow in on his other PADD, while waiting for the CO to respond.
