“That’s what I’m saying,” Shara said adamantly, starting to feel frustrated. “The longer we leave her out there in the mire, the worse things are going to be.” She turned to Creed. “You have the ability to suss her out more easily than anyone else. Well, you and the captain. Why don’t you do so and then we can reconvene and go from there?”

=/\=Sounds reasonable to me,=/\= Greyson said.

“Agreed.” said Cochrane. “Mr. Creed and I will do so immediately. I want this settled… one way or another… as soon as possible. It doesn’t serve this ship or it’s crew well to have us both even intermittently distracted by this anymore.”

Cochrane, CO

“If you want Colloway, you can help me supervise and perhaps come up with a tactic for your daughter. I want to try and get her on board as quickly as I can, and you might have a better chance. I haven’t had but a spattering few conversations… though from what you told me that maybe more than you have had the privilege of having.”

Creed, XO

Shara squared her shoulders a bit and managed to conceal her emotions behind a finely crafted mask that didn’t make her seem stiff. “I will help, but be forewarned, I can’t be sure how… open Faye will be to my presence. But it’s an inevitable meeting, so whenever it makes sense for it to happen, I’ll just have to be prepared. But I do know Faye better than she will think I do, so I think I can be helpful to you.”

=/\=And that sounds like a perfect place for me to sign off. Commander Calloway, report in once you have something to report and I’ll leave the matter to all of your discretion for the time being. Greyson out.=/\=

Calloway jabbed a thumb towards the screen. “Don’t worry about her, she’s one of the good ones. Less meddlesome than most Intel brass. Actually lets people do their jobs, funny enough.”

“So, how do you think is the best way to approach this mess. I mean in my line when I find a threat I bag them and tag them but I am guessing neither of you like that.” Jacen said with a small smirk. He wasn’t completely serious, but he did often like the more simple methods.

Creed, XO

Shara sighed. “Faye’s not stupid. She knows that there’s more going on than it seems and that her orders have not gone over well here, even if on the surface you’ve been willing to go along with it. While no one likes someone poking about in the background, Faye’s primary assignment is still vital for the ship given you’re going off galavanting in the Delta Quadrant. That being said, your having more questions about her assignment, about her being seconded to Intelligence, won’t be the most strange thing to her. How you want to reveal that there is an issue and Faye is under watch, is up to you. I’m hardly unbiased here and while there is a part of me that wants to be reunited with my daughter sooner rather than later, I won’t let that desire get in the way of the mission.”

“So let’s just take the most direct approach for a change. Mr. Creed, why don’t you and Faye meet in my office. Once you and I have laid out the situation - ” and he looked at Commander Calloway, ‘ - you can come in and we can all get on the same page. Thoughts?”

Cochrane, CO

“This may get worst before it gets better… but I don’t know if we have much other options…” Jack commented as he too looked over at Shara.

Shara took a deep breath and nodded, knowing that everything was about to change and she had no way to predict how it would go. She knew about Faye’s mental health issue and loathed to make it worse for her daughter. But the truth had to come out eventually and the charade had gone on long enough. “It’ a plan,” she said simply.

Cochrane stood up and said “So it is. Mr. Creed, please gather up the Lieutenant and meet me in the Ready Room. Commander, please be available when I call.” and he moved to the door to make his way out.

Cochrane, CO

“Yes sir… somehow I have a bad feeling about this… probably paranoia though.” Jack said as he got up and got ready to leave, knowing his task was one thing but he needed Faye to come without much suspecting.

Creed, XO

“I’ll hang out in a meeting room. Less people that see me, the better. You can contact me discreetly on channel Gamma-65,” Shara said with a nod. “Use my rank. I would avoid my name altogether. It’s going to be a shock to her either way.

That settled, Shara simply left the room.

OOC: Go ahead and contact Faye and we can then start a Ready Room thread. :)
