Shon smiled bashfully and rubbed the back of his head as the two senior officers approached. His cheeks blushed the slightest of purple at Lt. Wynters’ compliment and he nodded to cofirm that her estimations were at least somewhat correct.

As the counselor extended her hand in the distinctly bolian fashion, Shon blinked, then his eyes flashed up to look into Rollo’s then back down at her hand as he mirrored her motion, so that the tips of their curved fingers were about an inch apart before dropping his hand to his side. He grinned again. “It’s my pleasure, Counselor. I’m impressed already! It’s always refreshing to be reminded of home, all the way out here.”

Her smile grew, pleased that she’d remembered the greeting correctly. “We all need a little reminder now and then. Its good to actually meet another doctor besides the CMO. I’m not usually a frequent visitor to sickbay, but if one of you isn’t here, there’s a good chance the other will be…should I find myself feeling unwell at some point.”

—Rollo, CNS

Shon raised an eyebrow teasingly. “You better find some wood to knock on, Counselor…” he smirked as he said the human expression. “Not that there’s much of it on a starship. But yes, Doctor Wynter and I make a good team, so of course either of us will be happy to help if we’re lucky enough to have the privilege.” Shon smiled, seemingly a bit more comfortable now that the initial meeting had gone smoothly.

“Thank you. I’m feeling much more relaxed about the possibility now.” And it was true. Feeling ill or being wounded and THEN being introduced to your doctor added another layer of stress to an already bad situation. That wouldn’t be the case for Zef now. She looked at the chronometer on her wrist and realized she had another appointment in ten minutes. “If you’ll both excuse me now, I have somewhere else to be.” The counselor left sickbay feeling positively about the experience and wondering if she’d become friends with either of the doctors she’d met.

“So what do you think,” she asked Shon as Rollo walked out. “Think we can hang out with her and she not analyze us,” Jasmine let out a laugh. “She would have a field day with me. People never seem to get the Mintaran Wedding Rituals,” she let out a huge laugh. “Zeff seemed nice enough though. I think she will fit in well with the crew. Not like that Freud wanna be we had about six months ago. German accent, tweed coat, and blamed everything on our Id,” she let out a laugh. “If you missed him it was a real shame. I am glad personnel at least sent us someone we can feel free to talk to without them instantly replying ‘Zo tell me about your relationship vight now’,” Jasmine put on her best imitation of the famous psychologist.

Jasmine Wynter CMO

Shon chuckled lightly at that, uncertain. “It’s a little concerning that Starfleet still greenlights counselors who prescribe to psychological philosophy that was abandoned over four hundred years ago… Not that I have anything against humans, but perhaps it’s for the best that we have a counselor who seems to be a bit more culturally competent.” Shon shrugged. “I don’t know, I quite liked her. I’ll have to schedule an appointment with her when she’s settled in.”
