“So let’s tell her the turbos were wonky,” Jasmine rehearsed their story adjusting her blue dress. The color was Max’s favorite and that was why she was wearing it. “I mean if you had not helped me getting dressed,” she gave him a sultry side glance, “we would have been on time.” She punctuated the sentence with a slight hip bump letting him know she was only playfully teasing him. “This is going to be awesome,” she gestured to the console for him to activate the door control.

“I’m not saying the Turbo’s were wonky, that’s what I do for a living love,” Max explained slowly, not because he was trying to be clear but more because he was waiting for his heart rate to settle.

“So think of it as job security baby. It is the best excuse as to why we are late,” Jasmine countered in a sweet tone. It was the tone that she used when Jasmine was either in public or politely reminding Max of what he should be saying.

“Besides, I had to practise with that zip, I don’t want to get it wrong later.” He gave Jasmine his own side glance and hip bump, slightly harder than she had given him. He still hadn’t forgotten how she dragged him out tonight and depending on how the night went she would owe him in all sorts of ways he planned to collect on.

Jasmine bobbled to the side not far but enough to make her take a step. Breaking out laughing she ran her fingers through her hair re-arranging it. “Max, behave yourself,” she pointed a finger at him playfully, “misbehaving is for dessert.” Averting her eyes she kept them on the door. Looking at Max would make her blush even more than she was.

Shifting the bottle of wine to under the arm that he held the 6 pack of beer in, Max reached out and hit the door chime. “Ok, lets do the thing,” he said and looked at Jasmine properly. “You know you are so damn gorgeous in that dress?”

“Of course I do and I know what it does for you which is why I am wearing it,” she waggled her head confidently with a smirk. “Something needs to keep a smile on your face all night.”

OOC: Hilarious! We’re going to split the thread for a short bit, since Cochrane will likely arrive way before the Wynters and that way we don’t have to hold up any conversation, nor manage an unwieldily long thread.

The chime startled her slightly and Faye looked at the time. “Ah, that would be them.” Of course it’s them, who else were you expecting? she chided herself as she moved over to open the door. “Hey, you made it. Almost ready to send out a search party,” Faye said lightly. She stepped back and gestured. “Come on in.”

“Faye, thank you for inviting us.” Jasmine happily exclaimed entering the room. Reaching out she hugged Faye not thinking or caring what her new found friend thought. Jasmine probably should not have embraced her like a crazy fan to a superstar but sometimes people just needed to be desensitized.

The shock of it just made Faye stand there in the doorway with a open mouth. There Jasmine went again, upending Faye’s expectations in the most dramatic of ways. She could count on one hand the number of people who had hugged her. One! “Uh, hi…” Faye said dumbly before she allowed her arms to wrap around the doctor and give her a brief, and very quick, hug back.

Max had followed Jaz in closely, smiling and nodding his greeting to Faye as she was enveloped in Jasmines friendly greeting. You had to leave it to Jaz, she always found some way to break the ice. Sometimes it was with a sledgehammer, but it got the job done.

Pulling away, she stepped back to let them in, all the while giving Alex a bewildered sort of look.

Cochrane looked at the exchange and smiled. It was good that Faye was engaging with people… and of course Jasmine would have taken to her. Leave it to her to pick up Faye as a one in need of her absolute disregard of boundaries type of affection. Standing up, he looked at Jasmine and Max and then said “Evening, all. Max… glad to see she wouldnt let you excuse your way out of this.” and he held his hand out to the Engineer. He was well aware of the man’s aversion to intimate social gatherings, it was similar to his own.

“Captain, it’s great to see you,” Max replied but Cochrane would find that instead of a firm hand shake, Max had placed a bottle of beer squarely in his hand and with uncanny sleight of hand, another appeared in his own from the box hanging under the bottle of wine Max balanced easily in his arm.

“Jaz has a way of convincing you to do things,” he admitted with a grin. “I did consider a warp core breach but, Jaz made a stronger case. Faye, it’s nice to see you again, thank you for the invite.” Despite his earlier reluctance, now that he was here he saw no reason to sulk about it. “We bought wine,” Max announced, placing both wine and beer on the table.

Cochrane smiled and nodded a thanks for the beer. “We aren’t on duty… you can call me Alex, if you like. Same goes for all.” he said to Max with a slight chuckle. He looked at Jasmine and said “Good job getting him here. Did you use a heavy sedative? Or was it threats of violence?” and he smiled at her.

“More the use of a first- when scenario,” Jasmine laughed taking the beer from Max’s hand and taking a swig. “I promised that if we came here tonight he would be happy when we returned home or the fact you were serving pizza and beer,” she handed it back to her husband. “Nothing convinces a man to do something faster than offering him pizza and beer.” Turning her attention to Faye she directed the conversation to more feminine topics. “Can I help you in the kitchen,” she asked?
