Cochrane listened to the music and thought a moment, then said “You know what? I trust you. Surprise me. Whatever you do will be better than a cold sandwich in my office.”

She grinned wider. “Alright then, a surprise it is.” Faye already had a couple items that were unorthodox but, in her experience, delicious. And she suspected that Alex could handle a bit of heat. She cut a red onion in hand half through the root, all the while bobbing her head to the music.

“What made you pick this music?” she asked.

Cochrane smiled slightly and said “I’ve always been a fan of 20th and 21st century Earth music. Dont ask me why, it’s just always seemed to have more… spirit. And Stevie Wonder was one of the greatest of his time. And his music you dont really have to listen to, focus on… you can just feel there in the background and get your dance moves going… like you are starting to right now.” and he smiled at her head bobbing.

She laughed lightly. “I have an affinity for those centuries of music, though much of it from the late 20th century. It’s just a lot more… moody. Though some of it does make good party music.” Faye looked over her shoulder. “If I was one to like parties. I don’t mind dancing though. It’s just the whole large crowd thing that is a bit much most of the time.” Even as she said that though, she remembered that she and a fellow scientist on the Samurai had gone clubbing on the holodeck. It wasn’t quite the same though, and yet she couldn’t deny it had been fun. “But now and I again I can surprise people, including myself. And not just with people.” She grinned some more.

Cochrane’s eyes flashed and he smiled broadly. “Challenge accepted!” he almost shouted and then said =^= Computer. Play ‘Go Daddy-O’ by Big Bad VooDoo Daddy, Earth, circa early 20th century. =^= and he walked towards her. “You said you dont mind dancing. Put up or shut up, Faye.” he said with a grin as he extended his hand.

As the outrageously energetic music began, Faye was honestly shocked. It wasn’t what she had been implying. On the other hand, she would generally try anything once. Setting down the knife and wiping her hands on a towel, she reached out and set her hand in his. The moment her fingers connected she felt that familiar little flutter but pushed it aside. “Alright, but you better be able to lead or I’m going to be stepping all over your toes. I have no idea how to dance to this.”
