“None too bad yourself.” he grinned. He tugged and pressed on her fingers and spun her back into him… or tried to.

Anticipating the movement, which was probably her first mistake, Faye spun back in along his arm rather energetically. A little too energetically, which ended up with her bumping into him and Faye looking a little startled. “Sorry,” she mumbled, feeling warmth in her cheeks, rather aware of how close she was to him.

Alex laughed, but not at her. “Its fine. You’re learning. Let’s try again.” and he reset the two of them into position and then began to move back and forth with the beat of the music. “Deep breath. This time, no pause. Spin out, spin back. One motion. Tell me when you are ready.”

Faye nodded and began to move again to the bouncy beat. When she found her groove in time with him again, Faye smiled. “Okay, ready,” she said. If Calloway were honest, she was actually having fun, and that word was not something generally associated with her. But she had been finding that she relaxed around him. She would never have done this if others were around, but just the two of them, she felt at ease.

He nodded and then spun her out, locked her hand, and reversed her, spinning her back into him. Then, unexpectedly, he twisted and dipped her backwards, laughing as he did so.

The spin was fine, expected. Faye managed the movements well enough and was rather pleased with herself. But when she kept moving, and felt like she was falling, Faye actually shrieked a little before she too started laughing. Gazing up at him, she caught her breath slightly and grinned. “Hi,” she said with a chuckle.

“Hi to you too.” he said and lifted her back, separating from her and laughing. “I think you could be good at that with a little practice. Well, except for the screaming. That’s a new addition to swing, I think.” and he laughed again.
