He nodded and then spun her out, locked her hand, and reversed her, spinning her back into him. Then, unexpectedly, he twisted and dipped her backwards, laughing as he did so.

The spin was fine, expected. Faye managed the movements well enough and was rather pleased with herself. But when she kept moving, and felt like she was falling, Faye actually shrieked a little before she too started laughing. Gazing up at him, she caught her breath slightly and grinned. “Hi,” she said with a chuckle.

“Hi to you too.” he said and lifted her back, separating from her and laughing. “I think you could be good at that with a little practice. Well, except for the screaming. That’s a new addition to swing, I think.” and he laughed again.

Faye laughed, her usually stormy eyes filled with mirth. “Well, you’re supposed to warn a gal before you fling her backwards. Aren’t there rules about that sort of thing?”

“And you’re a pretty good teacher. I agree I could use some practice though,” Faye said with a light laugh as stepped back. What time was it anyway? Where were Max and Jasmine?

“Thank you. I may have had a lesson or two.” and he laughed. He then looked at her and said “So… can I do anything else to help you besides fling you backwards suddenly?”

She tried to keep a straight face, but couldn’t help the chuckle that ensued. “Well, now that I have regained my equilibrium, you could open the wine,” she said with a grin as she went to check on the pizza dough.

Lifting the damp towel, she gave it a poke and saw that it had risen well, but wasn’t over-proofed. It would probably hold until the rest of her guests showed up.

Alex saluted and said “Aye aye, Lieutenant ma’am.” and chuckled as we went back to the table and proceeded to open the bottle. He smelled the aroma and nodded appreciatively, and then looked at Faye. “So I know this is a bit out of your comfort zone. So why the get together?”
