It was only part way into the Alpha duty shift but he Captain was not on the bridge. Instead he was walking the Corridors, and getting to know the vessel he was in command of. There were many places aboard he had yet to see, and noises to hear. There was a lot to learn about the lady that protected him and his on their voyages through the Delta Quadrant. Soon they would need to return to the Event Horizon and dock for supplies and perhaps RnR if the station was complete enough, or a loan of his officers to speed the station along. That would be their lifeline in the quadrant and the Manhattan her flag ship.

Spartacus was good through the hallway. He had heard from the counselor that the captain was a fossil. He was certain that wasn’t true. But, it was well worth the chance to find out. That would be an interesting find indeed. Spartacus spotted that captain. “Good day. I heard from a source you’re a fossil. I figured that I dig up the truth about that.”

Balian paused, and looked the Science officer up and down. Kid had some Hutzpah for an Ensign. That was a rather loaded thing to take seriously, and then to fire off at the Man in control of you entire life. There was a short list of suspects that could have told him such, and Balian assumed they all wore blue. The Captain was not the best acquainted with the Scientist aboard his ship, but that was the balance of being a tactical Captain in charge of a Science ship. This was not his area of expertise. “And you Ensign are the expert that will discover the veracity of my fossilization?”

Fleet Captain Balian ibn Barazan, the Fossil

“Well I’ll do my best. I assume that since you’re moving and talking that you’re not a fossil. But, that’s my archeological opinion.” Spartacus responded.
