Nine AM sharp the doors slid open to the brig and the Captain entered. He looked at the guard on duty and said “Im here to see the prisoner. Lieutenant Wyatt and myself will be conducting her interview.”

Faye had been anticipating this moment and because of that she had spent the last while doing the one thing she had lost the ability to since her time with the Tal Shiar: meditate.

Sitting cross-legged on the bench, but facing the left wall, Faye rested her hands gently on her thighs with her eyes closed. The actual mind-clearing part wasn’t happening, but what she had been able to do was keep her mind active enough on calming things that two things were avoided: one, a mind dump, and two, her mind spiralling into panic. A mind dump would be terrible right now, and panicking would only make her reaction to Cochrane and Wyatt that much more difficult.

She had to be strategic. She had to reply in such a way that she neither admitted any wrong doing but also didn’t deny anything other than the one thing she could deny. Faye was pretty certain she knew how to make this go down, but it wasn’t just her and she would see how the others reacted.

Faye had to admit that even hearing Alex’s voice right now was nerve-wracking. Regardless of the necessary and productive outcome, it had shaken her in a way she hadn’t expected and she knew at least for the time being she had to put her guard up around him right now. For both their sakes.

Luke wasn’t long behind the captain and nodded silently towards the superior officers direction. He had a pretty restless night between the night terrors, his talk with Faye and then going over everything that had happened whilst laying In bed in an attempt to fall sleep again which never prevailed. The situation had so many unknowns and unanswered questions l and frankly he didn’t expect to get many answers either. “Shall we start?”

  • Lieutenant Luke Wyatt

Cochrane nodded 9nce at then looked at Faye. “Are you ready for the formal reading of the charges against you, Lieutenant?”

Her eyes slipped open and for a moment Faye just gazed at the wall in front of her. Then, with a small nod, she replied in a neutral tone, “Go for it.” What else was she supposed to say? Go away? It was an amusing thought but she was careful not to let that amusement show anywhere on her face.
