As promised, the morning after having dinner with the Captain, Zef contacted the Kestra and spoke to Kalig. When she informed him the law he’d quoted to claim her was old and outdated, he was angry. Apparently, he’d figured she didn’t have any resources to find out that kind of information, especially way out in the Delta quadrant.

“I have more resources than you know, Kalig, and I will always believe them before I’ll believe you.”

He sneered. “You think you’re pretty smart, don’t you? You’ve always felt superior to my family—but I’m not out of your life yet.”

Taking a deep breath, Zef held her composure. “Yes you are. I don’t want to be contacted again by you or your father or anyone else on your behalf. This is it. We are done.”

His laughter held menace. “Think what you want, Zef, but you haven’t seen the last of me. Its your fault my brother is dead and somehow, someway, I’ll get my revenge.”

Light colored eyes stared at his image on the monitor. “I’ve never known you to be stupid. I’m filing a motion with Star Fleet legal that will prohibit you from having anything to do with me. For your information, that will also include whatever ship I’m assigned to and any personal spaces I might occupy during my off time on other planets or transports. When my ID is scanned, your name and photo will automatically come up with a red flag. So…this is the last time we’ll be seeing each other. You should let whatever revenge you envisioned concerning me, die. I’m not worth the prison you’ll get if you ignore the restraining order.”

Kalig roared his anger and that was when Zef terminated the communication. The monitor screen went black and then the Star Fleet logo appeared as it always did. “Good riddance!” The finality of the conversation left her feeling better about things, but the adrenaline in her veins left her a bit shaky.

It was time to get ready for work. Perhaps normal routine would help it to disburse.

The comms activated not long after. =/\= Cochrane to Rollo. Counselor, a certain star ship just departed. I didn’t think a ship could actually leave in a huff, but I guess you learn something new everyday. I take it your business is concluded and Mr. Morrov will not be oozing his way onto my ship again? =/\= There was a bit of amusement in Cochrane’s voice.

Zef laughed at the mental image of a ship leaving in a ‘bad mood’. =/\=No, Sir, we won’t be having any more trouble with him. I told him I was going to pursue legal action that would flag him from coming anywhere near me again.=/\=

—Rollo, CNS

=/\= Glad to hear it, Counselor. I’ll let you get back to it. =/\= and there was a pause before Alex continued, =/\= Well played, by the way. Cochrane out. =/\=
