=/\= Manhattan, this is Runabout Athena. We are arriving at the rendezvous in fifteen minutes. =/\= came a male voice through the comms. NE Ha’tel turned and looked at the Captain seated in his chair. “Sir… the comm has come through. Runabout Athena on approach. Fifteen minutes to arrival.” Cochrane nodded once and took a deep breath. “Clear them for rendezvous and prepare Transporter 2. One to beam over. I’ll meet them there.” and he stood and began to move to the lift. “Mr. Creed, you have the conn.” and he stepped into the lift and the doors closed.
Pacing in the Transporter room, the time passed agonizingly slowly for Cochrane. Finally, the signal came through and the Chief said “Transport engaged, Captain.” Cochrane faced the pad and watched as the swirling lights coalescing into the form of a human male. The man blinked and looked around. He was wearing the uniform of Star Fleet, Commander pips on his collar. Cochrane knew that was for show. If Blue held a rank at all, Cochrane assumed it would be higher.
“Commander. Captain Cochrane. I appreciate you coming all the way out here. If you would accompany me, I will take you to check in with the Security Chief. Qe have some… concerns… qe wish to address before you see the prisoner.” and he gestured to the door. The Commander simply nodded and walked out, followed by Cochrane.
A scant few minutes later, they arrived at the Security office and Cochrane pressed the chime on the CoS’s door.
