She chuckled some more and then took a generous sip of her drink. Resting her glass in her lap, Faye shook her head at him. “Awww, I’m disappointed in you, Luke. I t’ought as the new Chief of Security you’d want t’have a handle on what’s happening on your ship. But since you don’t, I’ll teach you,” she said openly, the alcohol starting to show on the edges of her speech more and more. There wasn’t anything condescending in her tone either, though it wouldn’t be the first time someone had mistakenly assumed so.

‘Pinch of salt Luke, take everything with a pinch of salt She was drunk, perhaps more than what he first figured, maybe he was slipping. No. That wasn’t it, it was this woman. Faye, she messed with the way he thought and seemed to enjoy it.

“You see, in ‘Telligence you learn that all information has value. How valuable it is depends on the different variables, but it takes skill to determine what’s valuable. You claim to deal in truth, but the rumours were so much of the truth and you let it slip through your pretty little fingers. But… I suspect it’ll be lesson learned here.”

“I guess that’s where we security and intelligence courts differ, a rumour does nothing for me nor the courts, Proof is what I work with” He shrugged “Maybe that’s why you guys always work in the shadows, nobody can trust someone who solely relies on rumours and half-truths, but it does allow you to operate with a little more free, so fo that I suppose I envy you”

Uncrossing her feet and dropping them from the table to the floor, Faye brought one leg up onto the couch and adopted a more draped position, her more compact posture perhaps less provocative. Gazing up at him, she smirked. “I mentioned knowing all about you. it’s because I do. I know your full record for reasons I will esplain later. But my dear, had you paid attention to the rumours you would have learned that I used to be Maquis. I don’t always play by de rules and often I make em up as I go!” she said cheerily.

He tried not to show his discomfort, he had dealt with the maquis, lost friends to them and many people considered them terrorist himself included. “Well, that’s good to know.” Luke decided now to take a seat, it was late and his legs were tired, his mind more so with every minute this conversation continued she certainly had a mentally debilitating effect on him. “If you know everything about me, I guess I could just listen to everything about you, even out the playing fields a bit more. It would make this…” He motioned between them “A little more… friendly.”

Drink her left hand, Faye turned her body towards him, bracing her right arm on the back of her couch. It was somewhat interesting how long it had taken him to close the space between them and actually sit. Maybe there was a part of him that was actually afraid of her, and after the last couple of days, maybe he should be. “Friendddly…” she said with a wide grin. “I tried earlier to keep things civil, buuut you did seem to keep poking about things you shouldn’t.”

Setting her drink beside her on the floor, Faye leaned towards him. She wasn’t all that much shorter than him, so she didn’t have to work to gaze into his eyes. “You want to know somet’ing? Okay,” she whispered, her lips drawing that ‘okay’ out like it was multiple syllables. “I have a near eidetic memory. And I learn information very, very quickly. I’m also exceptional with computer systems. It’s why I’m here on dis ship. And soooo, since I wasn’t actually charged with anyt’ing and I still ‘ave my access I went lookin’ into what actually happened when I was on the run.”

Her gaze shifted and while she still seemed highly amused, there was gleam of something more dangerous. Her arm slid along the back of the couch a touch more until she was quite close to him. “I get de unusual circumstances, and I can even forgive ‘em. But… you ever pull that crap on me again, ever treat m’life so carelessly, and”-she dropped her voice to a whisper-“you will regret it. Deeply.” Her hand moved over and she tapped his chin. “Got it?”
