Faye left the bridge after seeing Alex and wandered back to Deck Four. She had contemplated not bothering but she wanted a chance to actually spend more time in the garden herself without so many people around her. Slipping back in through the entrance, she could hear the laughing and talking coming from the centre garden space and she veered to the left, meandering along the wide main path that went around the entire garden space in a rectangle.

Within seconds she relaxed even more, though her mood was still buoyed by both the ceremony and knowing that her and Alex were on the same page. She was already working through her thoughts on the matter and though she wasn’t ready to tackle them fully just now, she understood that almost losing Leroy and then realizing he was still alive had been so many things shift rather suddenly into perspective.

Still dressed in her dress uniform (her medal still affixed prominently) but with the jacket unzipped, she moved over to the left hand side of the path. She was still near the entrance to the loop that led to where the crew gathering had been going on, but Faye crouched down on one knee to check on some bedding plants that had been planting while she was in the brig and she hadn’t had a chance to check it all out.

Having decided he had used up his party and small talk quota for the night, Luke had slowly and surely began to say his goodbyes and leave. It wasn’t that he didn’t enjoy parties but more that he needed to sleep, he had allowed himself to fall victim of overworking and as a result embarrassed himself to the Captain. That had to change and going to bed early to catch up on sleep was a sure start.

He had just left the gathering which showed no sign of thining out anytime soon and was heading for the door down a small side path when he saw someone crouched down, as if they were hiding. He reached to his side but realised he was in his dress uniform. He couldn’t make out who it was and hoped it was just a party goer taken ill by to much fun. H
Taking a few more steps in thier direction slowly he called out.

“Whay are you doing” He asked only then seeing the hairpiece and knew the person was Faye. His deamner softening.

She turned her head, gazing up at the voice that belonged to Wyatt. Returning her attention to the plantings, she smiled. “Well, I could burying crucial evidence in a flower bed,” she deadpanned, “or it could be that it’s been a helluva week and due to circumstances I missed the planting of this bed and wanted to see what they ultimately decided to put in this part.” Reaching out, she lifted the slightly nodding head of a tiny purple flower and peered at it critically for a moment. Faye looked back up at him. “Corinzian violets it seems,” she said with contented smile as she rose to her feet.

Luke took a step forward to get a better view of Faye and the flower bed. “Pretty,” he said looking to the flower and then to Faye, “I’m not that educated in flora and fuana so I’ll have to take your word for it” he gave her a small smile, “How are you doing?” A ‘busy week’ was the understatement of the century. He probably looked how she felt, tried, exhausted and beat down, she seemed to be wearing it a lot better.

There was no simple answer, but there was a true one at the moment. “Well, right now, I am great!” she said honestly as she gestured to the medal on her open jacket. “Certainly didn’t expect that. All told, it’s bene a pretty great night. Haven’t had one of those in awhile, so… I’ll take it.”

Faye gestured to the garden at large. “Have you had a chance to look around much?”

“You deserved it, putting a lot on the line to catch the guy.” He was glad to see her in much higher spirits, it was refreshing. “To answer your question, no not really. Until today I hadn’t any reason to come here and then most of it was spent talking to people and enjoying the buffet food.” Luke looked around “I wouldn’t even know what I was looking at anyway. It’s like I said, Flowers are nice to look at but they’re kinda not in my skill set, I’ve never been a gree thumb. Unless its something like hemlock in a murder investigation” he shrugged, “What about you, you seem at peace here.”
