Pulling back, Faye wasn’t sure what to think. It was definitely a nice kiss. But was nice good enough? She was so used to having things be clear, but since she didn’t know entirely what she wanted, or how she felt about him, it was hard to know. And yet, because of this uncertainty, she wasn’t willing to just leave it at that. But what did any of it mean? He had definitely held back, and she was a little worried that maybe she had said too much, that it was all a bit much for him. And… no. She was overthinking it. She was thinking too much.

She leaned back in, deepening the kiss.

She wanted more, ok he thought his hands moving to cup her face as he began to deepen the kiss himself, the longer it went on the more Luke felt like he wanted more, he slowly rose from his chair still intent on kissing her, his left hand dropped from her cheek and down on to her waist allowing him to pull Faye in closer to his body. It was his turn to yet again make the kiss more than just a kiss as he nipped softly her bottom lip affectionately. Just once, as the kissing ensued, and the longer it did the more passionate it became.

There. Faye hadn’t been sure what she had been looking or waiting for, but there it was. Some indication that there was something there between them. It had been a very long time since she had allowed herself or had the opportunity to explore any sort of physical intimacy with anyone . That the person involved was Luke was rather a surprise to her, and yet, maybe not so much. He was, after all, exactly the kind of person she always gravitated towards. And while there was nothing wrong with that, she had done them both a favour by removing anything serious off the table. It would just be bad for both of them and she truly didn’t want to hurt him.

Unaware of her own inner thoughts Luke was having his own except for him it was more about joining the dots, he hadn’t thought there would be anything between them until it was too late, and she was right maybe they would only do this as some casual fun but he, for now, was content, no commitment meant nobody got hurt in the short term and he was also old enough to know that things change with time, the could change or they could not. He stopped thinking so much about the pretence of the kiss and instead just focused on the kiss itself and to Faye.

Arching her back slightly as she leaned further into the kiss, one hand came to wrap itself itself through his arm and around to the back of hi shoulder, while the other rested on his arm. Faye was a fairly tall woman for a Human and not that much shorter than him, so she didn’t have to tilt her head up much at all. As his hand pulled her close, her rather slim frame was more clearly strong with honed muscle. She could blame the Romulans for mucking up her body to a terrible degree, but she had worked very hard to make sure it was a strong and resilient body, if not for her own sake, then most definitely to spite them.

Luke traced her body with his free hand, it roamed over her back. She wasn’t soft, or at least maybe her skin was but her body was strong and toned in which he expected as much, she wasn’t as delicate as she first appeared and that alone only made him feel hotter. Faye was different from anyone he had met before both mentally and physically, they were opposite ends of the same magnet.

When Faye finally pulled back a bit, she was breathing more heavily. “Okay… well… we have different options here. Staying here isn’t one of them, but we better decide if we’re leaving alone or not.” She planted a kiss on the side of his neck before searching for his gaze.

Always options he thought, maybe before he would have been mad or confused that she was already thinking ahead but knowing her now more than he ever had, and understanding how she though made things easier, he could flow with it. “We can just leave together, were nothing serious right just doing some work in your lab” He suggested, leaning in to kiss behind her ear and down her neck. The tension between them was palpable and it wasn’t until the moment on the hilltop did he know it. “If its what you want.”

“I know what I want and there’s no alcohol in the way. But I was serious about not wanting anything long term or whatever. I don’t want to hurt you, so if you’re not up for this being casual or whatever, you should do us both a favour and leave now,” Faye said adamantly.

He nodded, “I’m old enough to know what will and won’t hurt me. I’m mature enough to be grown-up about it if things… didn’t work. I already agreed to your terms Miss Calloway. Casual with no commitments.” he shrugged, “I get it” This time it was Lukes turn to study her face this time, “Now first we should get out of here before someone we don’t want to walks in, and I’m not being the victim of a murder investigation.” He teased kissing her one last time on the cheek and twisting his chair back to its original position with his foot.

Was this them being on the same page for once? How novel! With something of a general plan in mind, Faye stepped back to her workstations. “Computer, cancel audio playback.” The music that had since shifted into another song disappeared, leaving them in the quiet lab as she quickly shut down her terminals and closed out her access. throwing the usual extra locks on it.

“Computer, seal lab after exit, authorization Calloway-Omega-Three-Six-Seven-Pi-Nine.”

The computer chirped. “Acknowledged.”

With a nod of approval, Faye turned back to Luke and moved to the door, stepping into the corridors of Deck Thirteen. “Which deck?” she casually. Hers was on Five, his was Four.
