Well at least she had waited for a response before launching into anything. Raising her eyebrows at Kiama, Faye took a steadying breath, and made a note to keep her response short since she had no idea what was going on up there. =/\=We’re at the croplands and trying to get better readings of the metal pieces like the one we brought up to the ship. There is a massive one that if it’s a ship, could tell us a lot. But with the radiation we can’t get enough info. We need about twenty or so pattern-enhancers sent down that are calibrated for scientific scan coordination.=/\=

Cochrane’s voice was sharp, but not angry. Whatever was going on had him more than concerned. =/\= Lieutenant, we are currently being pulled out of orbit towards the atmosphere. See if you can get any energy readings from down there to help us figure this out and stop it. =/\=

Cochrane, CO

Blinking a couple of times, Kiama looked at Faye; confusion written plainly all over her face. What was going on? And what did the Captain expect them to find out if they already struggled getting clear readings from their immediate surroundings. But with the comms open, she decided not to voice those questions as she didn’t trust herself to do so without sounding snarky or something like that. So instead she attempted some silent communication with Faye while feeling the concern for the Manhattan and her crew rise strongly within her. But she had to push that to the back of her mind, or she’d risk losing her focus. And that was something she couldn’t let happen if she wanted to have any chance of helping them.

~Lt. Naim, CSO

They weren’t equipped for orbital or sub-orbital scans, which was the whole reason they needed the pattern enhancers. But what they needed to understand was the source of the pull on the Manhattan. What was strong enough around here to pull a large starship out of orbit?

Gazing out over the fields, Faye’s heart sank. She pointed over the field to where the large metal mass was. After thousands of years, nothing was likely to be working but that was an assumption and they didn’t have a lot of time to make wrong ones. She glanced questioningly at Naim.

~Faye Calloway, Data Specialist

Following Faye’s gaze, Kiama sighed softly and then looked back her nodding with a grim and determined expression. She wasn’t sure what they would find there exactly and if it was what they were looking for, but for the time being it was their best guess where to start.

=^= I’m on it Lieutenant. =^= Walker said. After a few moments, =^=Pattern-enhancers are on their way. =^=

WO Darach - COO (Crosspost from Bridge)

Looking at least slightly relieved, Kiama exhaled softly, but left it to Faye to reply since she had started the comm call. With the enhancers they’d hopefully be able to get some answers and help the ship.

~Lt. Naim, CSO

The pattern enhancers materialized in short order ..

=/\=Got them! We’re going to test a hypothesis right now, shaky though it might be. Stand by!=/\=

The Captain’s voice responded almost immediately. =/\= Acknowledged, Lieutenant. Be aware that whatever tried to pull us is approximate to your location. =/\=

=/\= That checks out!=/\= she replied as she moved to get things organized. Gods I love my mind sometimes. It could be a right pain in the ass some days, but it had its moments where it proved to be exceptionally on point.

“Come on, let’s get…” Crap! She actually needed her mind to work faster at the moment. Being under intense stress didn’t help, so she forced herself to take a breath. “Three should be okay. We need to quite literally run with them over to near the larger piece and set it right down on top. The triangulation should cut through the interference, but we don’t have time to run simulations right now. I’ll grab two of them, if you grab one plus your tricorder and a padd. Let’s book it!” Faye said, just slipping into action mode now that they had a plan.

“Lead the way,” Kiama replied simply as she grabbed one of the pattern enhancers and a PaDD and made sure her tricorder was safely in the hip holster.

Grabbing two of the enhancers, Faye set up off at a run, though she didn’t go at full speed. Tripping and falling would be unhelpful now.

OOC: After some investigation, I found out that walking at an equiv speed of 4MPH/ 6 KPH, they can cross on acre in ~35 seconds. Assuming the big thing is in the middle and the whole area they are researching is 3 acres, they can get there in ~45 seconds or less at a run. Give or take.

~Faye Calloway

OOC: Quick as science bunnies <G>

Without another word, the CSO started to run as well; matching her speed to Faye’s. Hopefully they’d be able to find some answers and be able to help the ship and the rest of the crew. After all, apart from not wanting anything to happen to them, she really didn’t like the idea of spending an indefinite amount of time on this strange planet.

~Lt. Naim, CSO

Cochrane, CO

Reaching their destination, Faye set down one enhancer and set up the other. She quickly moved onto the second. =/\=Darach, once we have three of these enhancers set up, you should be able to get a stronger sensor reading. If you want a specific calibration, let us know now=/\=

~Faye Calloway

Kiama arrived a split second after Faye and immediately set up the pattern enhancer she had carried. It didn’t take her long till everything was ready on her end.

~Lt. Naim, CSO

It did not take long for them to set up the first three enhancers.

The indicators were clear that there was a ship down there, and not one that had landed well. There was a large dark region of metal indicating the superstructure, though out from that were numerous smaller pieces. There were indications of other things .. hints .. but three enhancers showed up the skeleton of a ship that was principally several meters down to some of the stray bits while the main structure began at least ten meters down.
