Faye slept awhile longer, though she stirred and rolled towards the centre of the bed a little while after he left, her arm stretched out. Whether she was subconsciously looking for something or just ready to wake up, she dozed a few minutes before she started to properly come to. Eyes blinking open, she frowned. Something was off.

And then she remembered.

In the showroom, Luke surveyed his body, luckily there seemed to be no glass embedded anywhere but a whole heap of scratches, bruises and… a bite mark? He couldn’t be sure but what he was sure about was that his body was showing signs of aches and pain. He finished by brushing his teeth when he went to see if Faye had woken yet, with all her training he supposed she’d be either about to wake or already up.

Pushing herself to a sitting position, Faye smirked as she ran a hand over her rather dishevelled hair. He was gone though. But then again, she might be off duty but that didn’t mean he was. Pulling the blanket over her shoulders, she slipped out of bed and padded out of the bedroom, wrapping the blanket around her for warmth. Surveying the scene, she might have been embarrassed, but she wasn’t. It wasn’t like she had done all this on her own after all. She stooped to pick up her leggings, her eyes searching for the rest of her clothes and for the moment said nothing, though there was a light expression on her face.

“Morning,” Luke said coming out of the showroom and looked at Faye draped in his duvet it made him chuckle especially when the background to that image was of his partly destroyed living space. “I’m not cleaning this up all by myself you know” With the heat from last night having worn off and now well and truly in the ‘morning after’ phase Luke wondered where that left them. “Sleep well?” he asked finally, still standing rather exposed.

“Never dream of leaving a mess,” she said lightly, her eyes tracing his form rather unabashedly before she gathered the rest of her clothes into a pile and set them at the door to the bathroom for her own shower. Stepping over to the Tapestry he keen eyes took a moment to straighten it. “And yes, I slept well. You?” It had been sound sleep, something she wasn’t sure she’d get last night or not. Certainly she hadn’t expected it when they had been on The Hill and her anger burned bright as a Type-A star.

“Like a log actually, I’ll let you get freshened up I replicated you some bits figured it would atleasy appear less suspicious if you left fresh and wearing new clothes.” Not that if anyone saw her leaving his quarters would suspect anything other than perhaps foul play and his murder. The thought now a distant echo of how they used to be. He began picking up his own clothes and placing the items which belonged on his desk back there, the table would have to wait there was no short way of fixing that amount of shattered glass.

“Well, no one saw me in this so how would they know?” she said, tossing a smirk his way. “But it was thoughtful, thank you.” She grabbed the items and tossed the duvet at him with a grin, moving to the shower as naked as he had exited.

Waiting for her to finish readying herself Luke went back into his bedroom to change into uniform. Unfortunately despite the fairy tale of last night he still had work to attend to. A Sadness crept into his mind as his thought turned to later that day when he would return to his quarters likely alone and Faye would probably be else where doing other things like tending to the gardens or in her lab. Casual fun, nothing long term he told himself having to accept the fact that Fay’s past was a huge lingom armed, shielded brick wall when it came to that.

A few minutes later, Faye stepped out dressed in what she had been wearing save for clean underwear. She combed her fingers through her hair to loosen a few tangles, but wasn’t worried about brushing it out. Then she set about tidying a little more hating to be a bad house guest, as it were.

They silently cleaned the room the best they could, picking up the kit few bits of broken decorations, his poor Aloe Vera plant (though fake) had several bent leaves, and his tapestry still looked a little sad. Even the picture of his daughter seemed to be judging him but he didn’t care because for once he felt relaxed and happy.

Grabbing her stuff, she moved over to him and planted a kiss on his cheek. “I should go before everyone is moving about on this deck. Thank you for last night, at least the later part of it,” she said with a glint in her eyes.

“You’re right, a lot of early risers on this deck” Luke smiled studying her, “And Thankyou too, for all of it” he stole the opportunity to kiss her one last time before walking to the door, “See you around Lieutenant” he gave her a lopsided grin and wink. It was a little numb thinking that the experience maybe just a one time thing but a east he though it happened and certainly no regrets.
