Cochrane’s jaw clenched as he jabbed the comms icon on his chair arm. =/\= Well, Doctor… something is trying to pull this ship into the planet below us and we have a specter of some sort standing on the bridge talking about the end of all things. Additionally, the location we are being pulled to has the ancient remains of another vessel buried in it… and from the looks of things that landing didn’t go well either. So if that meets your standard of ‘direst of situations’, then perhaps you could start the process of waking Mr. Tov up? But I will ask if that is ok with the Minister, as she is standing right here. =/\= Cochrane stood up and put his hands behind his back and looked at Maree and said “Minister, you heard our doctor. But we need Tov to tell us what he can… or you can call down to someone and try to find out what is so special about that spot. But either way, we need that information… and we need it now, ma’am.” His tone was calm and even… but it was obvious he wouldn’t be dissuaded from finding out what was going on.

Cochrane, CO

Jack arched an eyebrow as he heard the Captain. He understood the urgency, but there was always a danger he knew from his own traumas waking people up before they could be ready. Sometimes you got forced into a hard place and a rock though, and this felt like one of those moments.

Creed, XO

Jasmine locked her jaw and was glad she was not face to face with Cochrane. =/\=Understood Sir,=/\= she said crisply =/\= For the record know this is against my medical judgment in that I have no idea what sticking a drug into his system will do. Tov is not a Starfleet officer where they sign the dotted line to have their person be the property of Starfleet. This is a foreign sovereign sentient that is not part of the Federation so when I do this under your order and if there is a medical inquiry know my paperwork will reflect that your last and only option in whatever scenario you have decided on was to experiment on the life of a foreign national. =/\= Her response would probably get her a note to come to the principal’s office after class but there was a vast difference in reporting that someone did not survive something they signed up for and reporting the death as a direct cause of your involvement on an unsuspecting individual.

Lt. Jasmine Wynter CMO

Cochrane shot a glance at the XO that said You better check her before I do. and then replied =/\= Thank you Doctor. And again, as I said before, the patient’s government representative was standing right here when I made the request. It was, in fact, her suggestion. So write it up however you like, Doctor. Just get it done. And let me know as soon as he is awake. Thank you. Bridge out. =/\= and he turned off comms before the CMO could retort back and make the situation, already strenuous, even worse. He looked at the First Minister and said “Ma’am, if you would like to be there where Mr. Tov is awake, it may do him some good to see a recognizable face.” and he looked at Jack. “Care to escort the First Minister to Sickbay, Mr. Creed? I’ll try and keep us from crashing while you are away.” and he turned to address the helm and find out if there were any further effects form the unknown energy pull.

Cochrane, CO

A silent observer Luke continued to monitor the situation, a notification signalled to him that the security team dispatched by Prethra was awaiting transportation. He signalled for the green light upon Prethras arrival. As not to disrupt the flow of the Captain he waited for a prominent pause. “Lieutenant Pretha I think your skill set is better suited down on the ground, Security team Bravo are awaiting your arrival, beam down immediately and report back.” It was difficult enough and awkward enough that they shared the same rank but Lukes position as chief allowd him to make the decision, he hoped she had no hard feelings but she was better suited with the boots on the ground and his place was definitely on the ship.

  • Lieutenant Luke Wyatt

As the various conversations and directions were handed about, Cochrane sent word to the Operations and Science consoles to scan Dia and try to find out exactly what they were dealing with.

Cochrane, CO

=/\=Away team to Manhattan. We’re detecting an underground cavern system very close to where we are, around the outcropping. We can’t get to the larger of the metal pieces without bringing down heavy equipment and digging, so this is the safest way to get some answers,=/\= Faye said, unable to hide a thread of excitement in her voice.

~Faye Calloway, Data Specialist (cross-posting)

Cochrane’s head whipped around to look at the screen. =/\= Cochrane to Away Team. Understood, Lieutenant. But do not go in there until we clear you and get you some extra eyes. You understand, Lieutenant Calloway? =/\= He then turned and looked at the Minister. “Ma’am, do you personally have any knowledge of those caves?”

Cochrane, CO

=/\=Acknowledged, Captain,=/\= Calloway replied.

~Faye Calloway, Data Specialist

Cochrane looked at the assembled bridge crew and said “Five bars of latinum says she’s already on her way.” and he shook his head. Looking back at Wyatt, he said “Get Oberon and a team down there asap, Lieutenant. I want a detail with the Away team ten minutes ago.”

Cochrane, CO

Luke nodded, “Aye sir” A smile was playing at his lips form his comment about Faye, chances are she had sent the transmission as she crossed the threshold into the cave system with a wide-eyed grin on her face. =^=Lieuentent Oberon have you and the away team beamed down to the planet yet?=^= he asked waiting for a response, Luke had asked her to take charge of the away team upon his arrival and wasn’t sure how he felt about not going himself but with the delegation on board, he knew his place was on the bridge.

NE Ogden, the perky, blond officer manning the science station, started to run a scan of Dia the moment the Captain’s messaged appeared in front of her. This whole situation was a mystery and even those she had no desire to die because they crash-landed on a planet, she had to admit that she was rather excited about everything that was going on around her.

~NE Ogden, Science JO

Pretha had departed the moment she’d gotten the order. Her comm came back to Wyatt as he asked her status. =^=In Transporter room now, Sir. About to beam down. Will check in once we are with Away Team. Oberon out.=^=

About one minute later, her voice came back over the comm. =^=Oberon to Wyatt. We are with Callaway’s team, Sir.=^=

Ray had been watching and listening and sighed mentally. She had trouble following the ‘there is not two’ conversation just like Rollo. If they weren’t two, and they were one, then perhaps whoever, or whatever, was coming from the bodies when they slept was merely a sleep walking soul of their own. “Zef, does she maybe mean there aren’t two people? One waking, one sleeping. I mean, aren’t there cultures capable of dream walking or even out of body experiences? Perhaps that’s what she means. That those who wander at night are, in essence, the people they are when asleep. They maybe just lost that knowledge on how to keep connected in the mind when they are separated?” It was a long shot, and probably ludicrous, but they were stumped. Maybe it would lead to some other conclusion, even if she was wrong.
