Ray had been watching and listening and sighed mentally. She had trouble following the ‘there is not two’ conversation just like Rollo. If they weren’t two, and they were one, then perhaps whoever, or whatever, was coming from the bodies when they slept was merely a sleep walking soul of their own. “Zef, does she maybe mean there aren’t two people? One waking, one sleeping. I mean, aren’t there cultures capable of dream walking or even out of body experiences? Perhaps that’s what she means. That those who wander at night are, in essence, the people they are when asleep. They maybe just lost that knowledge on how to keep connected in the mind when they are separated?” It was a long shot, and probably ludicrous, but they were stumped. Maybe it would lead to some other conclusion, even if she was wrong.
Dia tipped her head toward Raye, then back to the Counselor. “You too are one but so much of you sleeps. It is as though you are unaware of your own potential. How could you be so .. asleep? Do you not know that you are spirit? Mother, you too have forgotten.” She looked at the Counselor again. “I know not how to explain it simpler, as a child, for you to understand. But some do.” She glanced to Raye.
Rollo chewed her bottom lip. “Yes, there are stories in many cultures that talk about dream walkers but does anyone have a personal experience with them? Its always ‘…a friend of a friend of a friend told me…’ The psychological community usually chalks the tales up to misinterpreted phenomena because of biological variations like hormones, health and depression.”
As he waited for the scan results to come back, Walker opened a data link to the science console, so they could share the results as they came back. Hopefully they would be able to figure out something from what they got.

Scans illuminated more. A great deal more. Percentage confirmations inched up that it was similar in nature to, but different from, that of past Metrons scans in decades past. There also was no ‘physicality’ to Dia. She appeared solid and like a small girl, but there was only a tiny bit of mass that registered. However the energy level was particularly high.
While the comparison percentage, Walker thought he should be surprised, but he was not. Even before he started, he knew they were going to be very similar.
Focusing on the differences, he had the computer list out what the differences in the previous scans were, compared to the current day scans.
WO Darach - COO
The differences were subtle. There wasn’t much in the way of ‘modern’ scans of the Metrons as there had not been discourse with them since their encounter a century earlier. Thus the scan detail was lacking in modern improvements for greater range and detail. However, the sense was that there was a similarity - not unlike, say, the DNA similarity between many of the humanoid species in the quadrant, well, in the Alpha Quadrant anyway. The principle curiosity was that the Metrons had no physical body per se while the Gravenians did.
Standing at the Security and Tactical station Luke remained observant, waiting to hear about the results from any scans the science department were conducting, he tapped his badge deciding to speak to Prethra. =^= Lieutenant Pretha, can you provide a dynamic risk assessment for the away team and the situation on the ground please and send it to this station, Wyatt.=^= Dynamic risk assessments were something Luke encouraged, it allowed them to reduce risk and have measure put in place if any were needed to be taken, something he had looked into since the event with Faye a while ago.

Walker looked over the data as it came back and it was starting to go over his head. He had learned a fair amount over his years, but this was diving way deeper into the scientific realm then he had ever made it. He stopped and rubbed his eyes before he gave himself a headache.
“Captain, I’m looking over the sensor data we are getting. There are a fair amount of similarities with the Metron race. But this is quickly going over my head. We need someone from science to take a look at these scans to really get some good detail out of them.”
WO Darach - COO
Pretha’s voice came over the comms a moment later. . =^=Assessment Low. Incline to base of wall was moderate with easy maneuvering. Assent will require climbing gear. Geographically stable on both walls and floor, so far. About to enter opening into next chamber. Possible man made opening. Will proceed with caution but see no imminent danger or reason to consider more than low to moderate listing of risk at this moment.=^=
Raye listened as the entity said she was one like the others, but split. “Asleep…” the word stuck in Raye’s head like an admonishment. Something made her wonder what provoked such a response from the girl.
She glanced at the Counselor and wondered how she was handling the fact they were ‘children’ next to this child before them. Something told her there was more to the race than she first guessed. “Sir,” Raye stood up and glanced at the Captain. “Permission to go to sickbay to see to the waking process and help as needed?” She wasn’t sure what help she could be. But she did know she should be around them a bit more to try and discover what this part of her way that she didn’t have.
Cochrane nodded and said “Go.” and he looked at Darach. “So Chief… what the hell are we dealing with?”
At this point there was a shudder that went through the ship. It was momentary, lasting only mere seconds, then stopped.
“We’re moving again. Pulled toward the planet ..” came the report from the helm.
“Captain, to be honest, I’ve got no idea. I’m looking through the scans and there is some similarities with scans in the database of the Metron race. However, the details are above my head. I can tell that our guest,” he said gesturing towards Dia, “is not physically hear. I’m seeing a slight mass reading, but mostly just a very high energy reading.”
WO Darach - COO
Cochrane scowled but said “Thank you, Mr. Darach. Please keep trying to figure out what you can.” and he then tapped the comms. =/\=Bridge to Sickbay. Status on our patient, please. =/\=
The ship shuddered again, but this time something ‘different’ happened. While Dia simply stood there stoic and unchanging, well, but for the occasional flickering of energy at her fingertips and hair, Maree on the bridge emitted an “Oh my,” before her features began to distort. Her physical form went fuzzy while another ‘form’ seemed to emerge from her that looked in appearance like a ‘shade’ of herself. That emerged part way before drawing back in. Her features were rather .. disheveled .. as though she had just done an hour of off roading through the desert. “I think I’ll just sit down,” she said weakly, nearly collapsing unless someone else was there to catch her.
Cochrane jumped up and went to her side, helping her to a seating position. “Get Medical up here asap. Mr. Darach.”
Walker only nodded as he opened the channel to sickbay. =^=Medical emergency on the bridge. We need a med team up here ASAP.=^=
Vorraye’s voice came over the comm just then. “Sir, Anders here. I believe Tov has reacted to the..umm.. stimulus. They’re checking him now. But something happened.” Her voice, slightly frayed around the edges like she wasn’t sure what she was describing, paused a moment before finishing. “It seemed like Tov’s energy self was reaching out for Baht, sir. Give us a moment to sort this out, sir.” She suddenly cut out.
=/\= Same thing happened here, Ms. Anders. Let the CMO know she will have another visitor shortly. =/\= Cochrane then looked at Darach. “Chief… start scanning all comms around the planet. See if there are any reports of this happening dirt-side. We may have to get the Graviens back down to the planet if this is an isolated problem.” He then looked at the entity known as ‘Dia’. “You could help these people. You have information we need. Either help us understand, or get off this ship.” Cochrane doubted she would acknowledge him, she hadn’t before after all, but at least it was something.
Strangely comms had ceased on the planet. There were still transmissions, and channels were open but there were no live comms.
Whatever was happening, there was another ‘thing’ .. the chrono on the ship was accelerating even if they weren’t in motion or in feeling.
For once Dia looked at Cochrane. “I am not on your ship. What might you feel when you were suddenly faced with your true self? Freedom? Resistance? Fear? We are all being called.”
“Channels are open, but there is nothing transmitting Captain. It’s just dead air, like everyone just stopped.” Was this because of what Dia was saying about them all being called.
Hearing about the transmissions, Cochrane said “Contact the Away Team. Make sure they can hear us. If they can’t try to get a lock and get them out of there!” as he knelt next to Maree.
Walker wasn’t too worried about about the transmission getting through, he was more worried about the away team being in a place where they would be able to reply. Hopefully whatever had caused the entire planet to seemingly stop, wasn’t effecting them.
=^= Manhattan to the Away Team. Do you copy?=^=
As he waited for a response Walker noticed the chrono on the bridge rapidly accelerating. That could be a problem. “Captain,” he said just pointing up to where the chrono was.
WO Darach - COO
Luke had also noticed the chronometer rolling through at an impossible pace, “Can we get a lock onto the away team?” He asked echoing the Captains orders if communications couldn’t be established. Quickly his mind was analytically thinking and breaking down the situation they could very well be under the influence of a force they did not know or comprehend, or simply under attack. He moved to the captains side, “Where is that medical team?” he wondered then if the ships internal communications was working or not.
- Lt Luke Wyatt
Communications could be made with the away team .. any wording, however, would sound like both sides were talking through a long echoey tunnel.
At the beginning the Manhattan pulled out of orbit to get away from the pull. My current take is that they were grabbed while out farther from the world and are being drawn back to the world, but right now were still outside of transporter range. That was not to say that they couldn’t return to range ..
