The Manhattan slowly moved to the ninety-percent completed station. =/\= Event Horizon, this is the Manhattan. Request permission to dock and begin repairs and resupply. =/\= Cochrane said over the comms. =/\= Manhattan, Event Horizon. Welcome back. Glad to see you, it’s been a while. You are clear for docking at Repair Berth Three. =/\= Cochrane smiled. =/\= Thank you for the warm welcome. Repair Berth Three, aye. Hope the bars are stocked. The crew is looking forward to some down-time. =/\= There was a soft chuckle from the other end. =/\= Indeed they are, and the first round is on us. See ya around, Manhattan. =/\= The comms went silent and the Captain looked at the helm. “You heard them, Lieutenant. Make for Repair Berth Three and secure from operational status.” The helm officer grinned and said “Aye aye, Skipper.” and began the process of docking the behemoth science vessel.
Thirty minutes later, Cochrane opened the ship-wide comms. =/\= Attention, all crew and residents of the Manhattan. We’ve been gone a bit, and I’m sure a lot of you want to stretch your legs. Well, we are officially at stand down from operational status. Well done… each and every one of you. We had a few close scrapes, but we are here and none the worse for wear. Leave and liberty is herby unsecured for all hands. Department Heads ensure staffing for your departments during stand down. Please be safe and responsible, crew. I expect to see all of you back and in one piece before our next assignment. Happy leave. Cochrane out. =/\=
As the Manhattan pulled into the repair berth, Walker started running down the checklist, making sure that everything was switching over to station control that was supposed to. He didn’t even want to think of the resupply list they would need, that was going to be a chore in itself.
Faye appeared on the bridge suddenly, though the officer closest to the lift would later swear he didn’t hear it . And she was notably already out of uniform- a fact easily explained by the fact that she had officially been on leave as of midnight… and then had worked till 0130. But it had been necessary.
Dressed in slim black jeans tucked into tall knee height black boots, she had a bag slung on her shoulders. Under a black leather jacket was blue t-shirt that said:
When you meet me
you think I’m quiet
When you talk to me
you wish I was quiet
When you know me
you get scared when I’m quiet
She gave Alex a not-so-subtle wink and moved over to the Operations station, leaning over the backside and giving Darach a serious look. “Okay, everything is secured and stored. Spare parts, Gods forbid you need them are in a special designated area and should something ridiculous happen, I’ll actually be on base. But other than an emergency I think the hope it that you won’t see my lovely face for a whole week. Enjoy it,” she said with a grin.

“Sounds good el tee. I’ll try not to blow anything up while you are away, I’ll wait till you are back so you can help,” he said with a chuckle.
“Aww, one might think you’re going to miss me,” Faye teased.
“Though should I be scared that we won’t hear from you for the next week?” He asked gesturing towards her shirt.

“Hearing… not hearing… we should always be scared, Mr. Darach.” Cochrane said from the center chair with a smirk.
“Indeed Captain,” Walker said laughing.
Faye let out a cackle and slapped her hands on the top of the console. “Ain’t that the truth!”
Spinning on her heel, Faye headed for the turbolift with a decided lightness in her steps. Turning as she waited for the lift to appear, she threw out her hands. “Well, I’m off to conquer the galaxy, so don’t wait up for me. But for all that might be Divine, do me a giant favour and try to keep yourselves in one piece and in this time and space, m’kay?” Though it was irreverent as hell, her expression was softer and more intense. Yes, a part of her still worried, but it was also that she cared and despite whatever wonderful things might await her this week, she would miss all of them.
The lift came and Calloway left the bridge without another glance.
As the doors to the lift closed, Walker hoped that Faye had not just cursed them with that statement. After the mission they just had, was it really worth it to tempt fate though. “Captain. Permission to knock on wood?”
