Kiama listened silently, but attentively. Ready to say or do something at a moment’s notice should she be needed as a mediator. But so far things seemed to go well and everyone was amicable. The only problem was: They were running out of time. And while she wanted to gently push the two Gravians on the Manhattan to make a decision one way or another, she was worried that trying to that would have the opposite effect. So for now she continued to keep her silence while not only listening, but also keeping a close tabs on the emotions of everyone present.

~Lt. Naim, CSO

“You don’t know. You will never truly know until you take the chance. It’s a risk, but existing at all comes with its own risks,” Faye said, She could feel the determination to make her point flooding through her. “You can’t expect to ever be fully ready or prepared for a change like this. If you tried you’d be waiting forever.”

~Faye Calloway, Data Specialist

Cochrane’s voice could be heard on the Bridge and by the Away Team through the comms. =/\= Now is the time. We don’t know how long after the decision is made the effects will take to release the ship, or even if it will… but we have to try. Please… for the sakes of all of our people… Do you want to speak to Dia? Get her perspective? I think she can hear you. =/\=

Cochrane, CO

Less than a minute later the Captain’s voice came through again. =/\= Away Team, this is the Captain. The Gravien delegation has chosen yes to move forward. Make the choice immediately. I repeat. The answer for the Gravien people is ‘Yes’. Confirm, Away Team. =/\=

Cochrane, CO

=/\= Understood, Sir =/\= Naim replied promptly. Turning her head towards Williams, she said, “Now it’s your turn, Ensign, to say that the answer is yes. That the Gravians want to make the change.” She felt some of the tension leave her body. Despite the fact that the danger was far from over for all of them and that they had no idea what was actually going to happen once Williams said ‘Yes’.

~Lt. Naim, CSO

Pretha was relieved though she sensed those who were prompting her negative response were disappointed. She looked towards William and nodded her head. “It’s all right. Just say that they choose to move forward in making the change. But say it out loud and quickly, please. The Manhattan is far too close to waste time with hesitation.” She hoped the young man would understand his role and merely speak the choice quickly. She feared for the ship and its occupants and she wasn’t aware of the stress causing her hands to ball to fists as she bit back the fear it was too late.

OOC: As Christopher is on LOA, GM if you need to move us forward we can move ahead as if she said yes.

The decision came and was spoken.
The voices about the cavern quieted after a final, almost in unison but still came out as a stuttered ‘It is spoken’.
The shadowed figures slowly faded leaving the cavern in a twilight, the sounds of dripping echoing throughout the cavern.
The only ‘new’ thing was that of the circular pool that began a rising pale moonlight glow throughout casting long shadows from the away team.

What had happened? Nothing? Everything?

Kiama held her breath as the decision was spoken. Her eyes focused on the pool and the pale moonlight glow emanating from it as she reached for her tricorder. She was still trying to sense those other beings and at the same time felt the need for more concrete data. Flipping the small device open, she scanned the pool and the cavern in general, looking for any changes no matter how minor they were.

~Lt. Naim, CSO

The voices and beings were gone and as Kiama scanned about there was only a heightened temporal emanation above the pool.

Suddenly, appearing as though out of nowhere, hovering in the air over the pool was a young Gravenian girl. Her hair and fingertips sparked with an energy that, again, the computer would find a close match to that of the Metrons. Her purple eyes held an eerie faint glow. “Years, Millennia ago, the Monks foresaw a time when much would be forgotten. Their lore lost. And strange pale visitors from space would renew our spirits. It has happened as foretold. Thank you.”

As she was fading she paused and then said, “Tell my mother, Maree, that I love her and will see her again in time.”

Pretha exhaled a breath she hadn’t realized she was holding. Sending a shaky message, she comm’ed the ship. =^=Pretha to the bridge. Status update? The entities here are gone. We’ve been told to tell Maree that her daughter loves her and will see her again in time. Is the ship safe?=^= She was going to be subtle, but whatever was going on wasn’t a subtle thing. She had to know the Captain and the ship and crew were going to be all right.

Faye was entranced and though that strong pull towards the one answer, the one truth, she felt was no gone, its effect was not. Gazing at the spot where the girl had been standing, Faye could feel the wash of emotions sweep over her. “Good luck,” she whispered. Somehow she didn’t think they’d need to but wherever they were expanding to, she wished them well.

Putting her tricorder away, Kiama took a deep breath. A lot of the tension she had felt, had begun to leave her body. But as long as they didn’t know what was going on on the ship and that the rest of the crew was safe, she wouldn’t be able to really relax.

~Lt. Naim, CSO

It was delayed, but soon the Captain’s voice came over the comms. =/\= Manhattan to Away Team. Everything’s perfectly all right now. We’re fine. We’re all fine here, now, thank you. How are you? =/\= His voice was noticeably relieved, and all on the Away Team could recognize he was keeping it ‘light’.

Cochrane, CO

The other voices had drawn her attention back to the present and their very odd reality. Alex sounded… tense. =/\=Peachy keen,=/\= came the voice of their data specialist. =/\=And since you’re all fine, can we assume you don’t need a mop up there? You know, for all that sweat pouring off your brows?=/\= Ahhh, that felt better, like things had fallen back into sync with the Universe again. Still, her eyes were still fixed on the place where the girl had been. Did that really all just happen? Huh.

~Faye Calloway, Data Specialist

=/\= Don’t know what you are talking about, Lieutenant. Our brows are sweat free… although our pants may need some attention. =/\= and the Captain chuckled.

Faye snorted, but more to herself and probably not enough to carry over the comm. Alex knew her well enough though.

Looking from one member of the team to the next, Naim replied, =/\= It’s good to hear your voice, Sir, and to know that you are all well. I would like to take a few last scans before we leave this cave and return to the ship, if that is okay? =/\= The moment she had heard Cochrane’s voice the last of the tension had left her body and she suddenly felt a little weak-kneed. There was slight catch in her voice, despite the wide smile on her face, and she felt a single tear run down her cheek, but didn’t bother to brush it away. Who cared if she was showing her relief? They probably all felt very similarly.

~Lt. Naim, CSO

=/\= Take all the time you need, Lieutenant. We’ll be standing by to beam you up when you are ready. =/\=

Cochrane, CO

Additional scans would show a noticeable difference from when the entered and first scanned. Firstly, scans were working where before it was limited to but a few feet it seemed. Something had happened there. The temporal energy had increased at least twofold from earlier and the glow at the pool had not subsided or fluctuated in strength since the choice had been made.
- Wookiee

Ooc: sorry been busy lately getting out of the house and everything. So that’s why I havent been doing anything I have read everything else so I should be more caught up now. Also I am also just waking up so please to try and bare with me.

IC: As William’s wondered what was going on. She just went and followed. She then decided to run some scans but let the others do the rest she knows that it was alright but scans was necessary. The temporal energy from at least the twofold from earlier from the glow from the pool, interested her. She was someone interested when it came to things like that. But she also realized that something could’ve been something else.

Ensign Williams

The well appeared ‘deep’ .. one of those mysteries that would have ‘ancients’ saying that it went on forever, or linked to the netherworld or some such legendary nonsense. Though even with the tricorder there didn’t appear to be an end to it but tunneled straight down until the energy and depth rendered the scans inconclusive.
- Wookiee

Faye stared at the data, lost to it. Lost to the swell of emotions in her and those around her. It was hard to fully wrap her mind around what happened and of course she naturally wanted to pick apart all the details. Anyone looking at her would note a faraway expression, like she was elsewhere.

Once their scans were done and they had collected all the data they could, Naim gestured for everyone to regroup and said, “Thank you. All of you. You have done a great job. Now lets get back to the Manhattan and see what we can do to help them. I have a feeling all hands will be needed for repairs and such.” With that she led the way back out of the cave so that they could be beamed back up to the ship.

~Lt. Naim, CSO

“Yes Lt. On your six.” Williams said. While they all walked out of the cave Williams was surprised but also happy that she was apart of the away team. Williams stood there smiling.

Ensign Williams

Though she lagged behind slightly Faye moved with the group to the climbing point. Taking a deep breath, she fully focused and began the climb back up. Al the while, she kept wondering to herself if it all really happened.

At the top as they prepared to beam back to the ship, Faye looked around at the planet and felt suddenly emotional. Sadness, joy, wonder, and also grief. But now was not the time to unravel it all. Later. For now, she tapped the inside of her palm to make sure she was well and truly present and waited for the transporter.
