“Computer, lock the door to the bedroom. Dim the lights to thirty percent.” The door beeped and the lights went low. Mike looked at her and smiled a smile of pure love and adoration. He moved slowly, deliberately, not closing the gap but not letting her get an angle to move past him.

“Revna… love of my life and center of my soul… I would like to make a bet with you…” and he grinned.

Mike ‘Nothing Up My Sleeve, Nope. Not At All’ McKenzie

Revna grinned and her brows went up in question. Lock the door, like that was necessary or would even work…long term, it was certainly going to slow her down. Now this was an interesting conundrum…she could get past him, but the question was, did she feel like attempting to vault the bed in this dress? She cross stepped towards the more open area of the room, guaging how close he was willing to come. Revna was a hopeless romantic, and Mike was the only one who knew how hopeless, and his words melted her heart and distracted her momentarily.

“Oh No! That gets me in trouble!” She laughed, softly, but intrigued. “You can state your terms, McKenzie, but I reserve the right to refuse.” She chuckled and resisted the urge to tug the mini skirt to a longer length.

Revna ‘I’m in trouble now’ McKenzie

Mike grinned. “Very well… McKenzie… my terms. I stop pursuing you around the room, you make no attempt to leave. If I can get you to come to me without physical contact, you have do that thing you did you did last night that made me almost fall off the bed. What say you? Do you accept my wager, Mrs. McKenzie?”

Mike ‘Oh, This IS Gonna Be Good’ McKenzie

Revna eyed Mike, slowly, her gaze like a soft caress, while she a bright flush spread across her. “Too bad…the pursuit is half the fun.” Her eyes widened, a slow burn settling in them. “Accepted.” She was in so much trouble. She took a step back, leaning against the dresser and crossing her arms. “Good luck.”

Revna ‘Yes I like loosing bets to my Husband’ McKenzie

Mike leaned back against the wall by the door and put his arms behind him and smiled. “I love you, Rev…”

“I love you too, Mike…” but she still wasn’t going to make this easy for him....

He looked at her softly… and then he started to sing.

Stuck on you
I’ve got this feeling down deep in my soul that I just can’t lose
Guess I’m on my way
Needed a friend
And the way I feel now I guess I’ll be with you ‘til the end
Guess I’m on my way
Mighty glad you stayed
I’m stuck on you
Been a fool too long I guess it’s time for me to come on home
Guess I’m on my way
So hard to see
That a woman like you could wait around for a man like me
Guess I’m on my way
Mighty glad you stayed
Oh, I’m leaving on that midnight train tomorrow
And I know just where I’m going
I’ve packed up my troubles and I’ve thrown them all away
‘Cause this time little darling
I’m coming home to stay
I’m stuck on you
I’ve got this feeling down deep in my soul that I just can’t lose
Guess I’m on my way
Needed a friend
And the way I feel now I guess I’ll be with you ‘til the end
Guess I’m on my way
I’m mighty glad you stayed
I’m mighty glad you stayed

Mike “I’ll Serenade You Till You Give In’ McKenzie (With Special Thanks to Lionel Ritchie)

As soon as he started singing she KNEW she was in trouble…that was so NOT fair. The corner of her mouth twitched suppressing a smile. They both knew she was going to lose this bet, it was just a matter of how long before she did. She closed her eyes and just listened, his voice moving over, around, and through her. When the song ended she took a deep breath before opening her eyes and staring at him, breathing just a bit harder than normal. Gods above she loved that man, but she stayed exactly where she was.

Revna ‘I’m stubborn’ McKenzie

Mike grinned and said “And that’s why I love you… Computer play guitar and piano accompaniment Cocker 37.” and he started to sing again as music began to play.

You are so beautiful
To me
You are so beautiful
To me
Can’t you see
You’re everything I hoped for
You’re everything I need
You are so beautiful
To me
You are so wonderful
To me
You are so wonderful
To me
Can’t you see
You’re everything I hoped for
You’re everything I need
You are so wonderful
To me
You are so beautiful
To me
You are so beautiful
To me
Can’t you see
You’re everything I hoped for
You’re everything I need
You are so beautiful
To me

Mike ‘You Know You’re Coming Over’ McKenzie (With Special Thanks to Joe Cocker)

Piano....it had to be piano....Revna took a very deep breath, concentrating on how it filled her lungs, which only helped to show the dress off more. This time her eyes locked with his, unable to look away. Why did she have to love music so much....oh yeah the gods messing with her, they made her for Mike. She didn’t move from where she was standing, but about half way through the song, her weight shifted and she crossed her ankles. Then she tucked her hands behind her back, holding onto the lip of the dresser. She was not moving.

Revna ‘Not Yet I’m Not’ McKenzie

Mike grinned and without pausing went right into the next. “Computer… play band accompaniment Sinatra 7.” He loved singing and playing music… but he loved it most when it was for her.

Some day, when I’m awfully low
When the world is cold
I will feel a glow just thinking of you
And the way you look tonight
Yes, you’re lovely, with your smile so warm
And your cheeks so soft
There is nothing for me, but to love you
And the way you look tonight
With each word, your tenderness grows
Tearing my fear apart
And that laugh wrinkles your nose
Touches my foolish heart
Lovely, never, never change
Keep that breathless charm
Won’t you please arrange it?
‘Cause I love you
Just the way you look tonight
And that laugh that wrinkles your nose
It touches my foolish heart
Lovely, don’t you ever change
Keep that breathless charm
Won’t you please arrange it?
‘Cause I love you
Just the way you look tonight
Just the way you look tonight

Mike ‘Yes, I Pulled The Sinatra Card’ McKenzie (With Special Thanks to Frank Sinatra)

Sinatra....Mike could sing Sinatra....be still her foolish heart. She closed her eyes, a smile spreading across her lips that just didn’t stop. The way his voice turned certain words, providing his own emphasis made her laugh softly. She opened her eyes and looked at him…Oh D%@$, the look in his stopped time, like she was his whole…everything. Nerve endings fired, warm shivers raced down her arms and pooled in her core. Why was she standing here when she could be over there? Oh…right…they had a bet going. Heat and laughter settled in her gaze. Losing bets to Mike was going to be a life long past time. She moved, uncrossing her ankles, and slowly standing up, moving away from the dresser. She paced slowly across the room while he sang, timing it so that she stopped in front of him when the song ended. Hands clasped behind her, exactly and inch of space between them from head to toe. With a soft sigh, “Alright Mike, you win.” But she didn’t touch him.

Revna ‘Who’s Winning?’ McKenzie

Mike looked down at her, and at her, and then grinned. “Oh, I dunno about that. There’s still a bit more you need to come to get here.” and he started singing again.

How sweet it is to be loved by you
How sweet it is to be loved by you
I needed the shelter of someone’s arms
And there you were
I needed someone to understand my ups and downs
And there you were
With sweet love and devotion
Deeply touching my emotion
I want to stop and thank you, baby
I wanna stop and thank you baby, yes I do
How sweet it is to be loved by you
Feels so fine
How sweet it is to be loved by you
I close my eyes at night
Wondering where would I be without you in my life
Everything I did was just a bore
Everywhere I went it seems I’d been there before
But you brighten up for me all of my days
With a love so sweet in so many ways
I wanna stop and thank you, baby
I just wanna stop and thank you baby, oh yes
How sweet it is to be loved by you
It’s like sugar sometimes
How sweet it is to be loved by you
You were better to me than I was to myself
For me, there’s you and there ain’t nobody else
I wanna stop and thank you, baby
I just wanna stop and thank you baby, oh now
How sweet it is to be loved by you
How sweet it is to be loved by you
How sweet it is to be loved by you
It’s like jelly, baby, oh now
How sweet it is to be loved by you, oh now
How sweet it is to be loved by you
Just like honey to the bee baby, yeah now
Na, na, na, to be loved by you

Mike ‘A Bet Is A Bet’ McKenzie (With Special Thanks to Marvin Gaye and James Taylor)

Revna laughed, that one was a bit cheesy, and she loved it. She shook her head slowly, “Oh no husband-of-mine. The wager said I had to come to you, never said I had to touch you. I stop trying to get away, and you don’t pursue me around the room. You didn’t chase, I didn’t run, I’m standing right here. You’ve won your bet, now what are you going to do about it?” She smiled wickedly at him, “Ifin’ you’re done…I can always go change.”

Revna ‘You Did Want to Win, Didn’t You?’ McKenzie

“The hell you will…” he said with a grin and he reached down and put his hands under the hem of the almost-skirt and lifted her off the floor and into his arms. Holding her like a he was carrying her across the threshold, he leaned in and kissed her. It was a kiss of pure unadulterated desire and love all mixed together and coming through his touch directly to her.

Mike ‘We Both Win’ McKenzie

Revna loved it when he picked her up, it drove her crazy. She softened in his embrace and heat curled around them both. She wrapped her arms around him, her kiss conveying her love, desire, and total happiness. She made good on their bet, several times, just to make sure he wouldn’t forget that she held up her end. A few hours later she kissed him gently, “Are you ready for date 4? I was going to make lunch, but I think it’s dinner now, and I’m cooking. Real cooking, not that replicator stuff.” She climbed out of bed, after kissing him longingly, and then picked up the dress. “I think I can get rid of this thing now. Like you said why would a married woman have such a thing?”
Revna ‘I’m Hiding This for Later’ McKenzie

Mike looked at her quizzically. “Date four? Why, my dear Mrs. McKenzie… we are married. Married is one date. So I’m sorry, but you have another seven lifetimes with me before your dates are fulfilled… and you’re keeping the dress.” and he winked at her.

Mike ‘You Don’t Get Away That Easily’ McKenzie

Revna walked into the closet hanging the dress up carefully, way in the back. That was not going with her. She came back out and grinned at him. “Okay two things. First why do you need to borrow one of my dresses and two do I need to remind you of my vows, Husband?” Revna slid into his arms, all the love she felt for him in her eyes and the whisper of her voice. “Have you forgotten them and the fact I meant them with every fiber of my being, beat of my heart and every breath I take already? Every lifetime, every reality I will find you and choose you. You are everything to me.”

Revna ‘I said EVERY Lifetime’ McKenzie
