Faye snorted. “Oh how I hear you! Let’s see, I had a big kerfuffle with my job and orders, had to shoot my three superior officers- including my best friend- as a sneaky way to get to the bad guys, had a pretty solid mental breakdown with crazy highs and lows, was given an award for my actions, started a relationship after conquering some really dark demons, swore off alcohol after not being my best self on it, got to help a species choose to evolve into a higher state of being, got a cat as a service animal, got to finally be the Intelligence officer I am without sneaking around, started the Command Training program, got engaged, got a promotion and now am planning a wedding while I prepare to make even more changes in six months.” Faye forced out a breath. “Wow, that sounds nuts even to my own ears!” she said with a laugh.

Revna grinned but more out of shared ‘nuts’ than humor. “I am pretty sure you had the harder journey. Here’s my story....Year and a half ago I got injured in the line of duty. Almost took out my lungs. Got transferred to an ‘easier’ duty station…Atlantis…ship got lost…fought with pirates, lungs started giving out…2 weeks before my procedure I got drunk with the security chief, took a bet for a date when I knew I was leaving. I fell in love with the guy, we had 1 date before I left, had surgery, did my recovery, somewhere along the way there was a misunderstanding and we stopped talking. I resigned from Star Fleet, took a job with the diplomatic corp and came here. He shows up on Event Horizon, we got married that night. And more to come very soon.” Revna laughed now, “Yeah we both sound nuts, but ya know what? I wouldn’t change it.”
McKenzie, DAFaye laughed and held out her to Revna. “Nice to meet another member of the wild and crazy life club.”
Looking back at her garden bed, she was more satisfied with it’s more tamed appearance, though she made a mental note to keep a closer eye on that vine. “Well, now that we tackled that mess- thanks for the help by the way- what are yu up to now? Did you come by the garden for a particular reason?”

“Oh any time.” Revna bent down and picked up the pad and pencils. “I came to sketch. I used to do nature sketches all the time, but I haven’t in a very long time. Now that I find myself with actual down time…I am rediscovering old hobbies.”
