“Good, ” she said with a smile. “Now, I’ve been doing my best to do my reading so I have a grasp of where everything is at, but why don’t you sum up where the Manhattan is right now and how you as her commanding officer fit into all of that?”

Cochrane smiled and said “The ship is currently operating at peak efficiency and is doing really incredible work within out stated mission of exploration and discovery. We have made contact with known species, as well as a successful… if somewhat startling… first contact mission with the Graviens. The crew is in good spirits after a two week leave, and we are heading towards a system that has intrigued Federation scientists since the Voyager logs were made available. I, as the Captain, have the job to ensure that everyone has the tools they need to be successful at their jobs, ensure everyone is doing what needs to be done, health and safety is paramount in all departments, and keeping the ship on task and safe. The Manhattan is our home… and I keep our home in order.” He finished the statement with a grin. He was proud of the crew and the ship… and it showed.
