Sair had laughed a little when she had first learned about Starfleet’s rules on regular physicals in her first stint in the exchange program. For adult Kobliads, missing an appointment would result in death. So every thirty-three days, she saw a doctor to get her custom dueridium injection along with, now, her gene therapy treatment. When she had still been a regular doctor, she had seen to her own treatments since she knew her metabolic match perfectly and it was easier than trying to teach a rotation of new people how to get it just right. But things were different now and Sair was a bit nervous about entrusting her life to strangers. On the other hand, her previous experience in the Federation had given her a great deal of understanding into the people who served in Starfleet and she knew she could trust them.

Stepping into Sickbay with a stasis crate in hand, the lilac haired counsellor looked about and flagged one of the staff. “Excuse me, I’m looking for Doctor Wynter?” she said with a bright smile.

“She is over there,” one of the doctors waved a stylus behind her shoulder. “Yo doc you have a patient,” they yelled as they continued the scan on the patient in the bed.

Hearing her name, Jasmine put down her coffee and moved towards the officer. “Hello. You must be the new psyche officer. Pleased to meet you,” she extended her hand. “I assume you are here for your check in?”

Oh, right, handshakes. those were a Human thing. Sair shuffled the stasis box fully into one arm and then reached out to take Wynter’s hand, giving it a firm shake. “Yes, I’m Sair Songz. Here to have my physical as well as delivery my current batch of dueridium and gene therapy injections. Is there a safe place to put these for now?” She tried to relax her grip on the case but all-in-all she was rather protective of it. Starfleet and her and come to an agreement on the best way to have future supplies delivered, since deuridium destabilized after a period of time, but she could keep several doses on hand at a time and since she was a Super-Celler and had a longer span between injections, she could go a ways before she needed a new supply.

“Lemme take that,” Jasmine reached out for the case. Starfleet medical has sent the brief about what you require for this. We have the storage unit all set up. After I get you checked in we can go over where they gene therapies are going to be. I hope it it’s okay but since you were a CMO in the past I was going to access to it I normally wouldn’t. Things can get crazy here at times so due to your condition and ability to correctly administer it I think fine in the off chance emergency someone is not here to administer it for you. Take a seat,” she gestured to the bio bed as she motioned for a nurse to come take the case

A wash of relief flooded her, and for a moment Sair hesitated before handing over her precious cargo. More than anything, she just wanted it to be not a big deal and for people to understand her protectiveness. As the nurse took the case from her hands, Sair exhaled and hopped up on the biobed. “I appreciate you letting me handle things myself when needed. I have no objections to anyone where administering my doses, but I’m a long way from home and it’s nice ot have one less thing to worry about,” she said with a bright smile.

“Of course. If it is okay I would like the staff to administer some of the treatments…just so they know the routine. It has nothing to do with you but more me wanting to make sure my staff is fully trained with every contingency given your special medical situation. So now for the boring stuff,” Jasmine said running the tricorder over Sair. “Anything out of the ordinary I should know about?”
