A light humming sound moved through the corridor, announcing her presence as surely as anything. Not that people here knew she hummed, or sang. But as she settled in on the Manhattan, Sair was starting to feel like she could relax and be herself. Not that she was worried about what people thought of it exactly, but it had been awhile since she had worked at a Starfleet facility and there were adjustments to be made.

Sair glided into the Lounge, feeling much more comfortable here than going to the officer’s Mess. She wasn’t an officer, despite being a member of the senior staff, and she couldn’t shake the feeling that her using that space was somehow wrong. It was named that way for a reason and she wanted to respect the way things were done here. Besides, the lounge was an easier place to be social with a larger variety of people. You never know who might turn up and given that she had been stuck in an endless stream of evals and sessions, she needed a break from the constancy of it and to let herself be seen, be a part of things.

As the lilac-haired counsellor looked around, she planted her hands on her hips, the long wide sleeves of her tunic flowing. It was sheer, printed with some sort of jungly-floral pattern in vivid greens, pinks and yellow on a white background. The tunic flowed over her fit body, stopping asymmetrically at her hips, with the longer end trailing down to a knee. Underneath was a fitted tank and leggings in silver.

Moving to the bar after assessing the moderate busyness of the place, Sair moved to the bar and waited her turn to order a drink.

Brown eyes drifting to the window, Sair stared at the stars , enchanted by the streaks as they moved at warp. Starships were something magical to her, though she would never say that aloud. It was hard to articulate exactly, but something about being on a Starfleet vessel made her want to appear more serious. So they would take her seriously? Hmmm, things to think about. Sair was easy-going- that’s what everyone told her- and she did move through life lightly. She had her hurts like anyone else, but most things floated over her.

Something touched her elbow and she jolted back to the present. Eyes wide she turned in that direction only to realize that someone was talking to her. Heat touched her cheeks and she gave the bartender a sheepish expression. “Sorry, I missed what you were saying.”

He gave her a winsome smile, white teeth gleaming. “Apparently. I was just asking you if I could get you something.”

Turning and leaning on folded arms on the bar top, she smiled back, tucking strands of her lilac hair behind an ear. “I’d like a drink but I’m open to trying new things. Suprise me.”

With a grin and a wink, he nodded and moved off to concoct something she might like.

OOC: Anyone is free to join me here. Siar doesn’t bite!

The self aware NE transporter operator unexpectedly found himself in the lounge. He saw the Counselor, identifying her easily, even though he had only seen her previously in passing, and he smiled at her.

“Counselor Songz, may I join you? You probably don’t remember me, I’m an NE transporter operator, I don’t know my name and I don’t think I have a backstory. Am I allowed to speak with you here?” he asked nervously.

The lilac-haired Kobliad offered the man a smile. “Sure, why not,” she said, slipping onto a barstool.

The bartender returned and slid a clear looking drink towards Sair. “You asked for a surprise,” he said and flicked the lip of the glass. It swirled in a flurry of colours before settling into a homogenous gold colour. Delight etched itself onto Sair’s face and she turned to the Nameless Operator. “What about you? Are you a person who likes surprises?”

The NE Transporter Operator shuddered at the word ‘surprise’ and shook his head, “no, surprises are the last thing that transporter operators like. We have to fill out sixty-four electronic forms in triplicate and then spend hours cleaning every bit of the transporter system with a fine tooth comb and then pull it apart and put it back together before anyone is allowed to use it. Whether the surprise results in senior officers exchanging realities with their mirror universe counterparts, the discovery of micro organisms in the transporter buffer, the combination of two crew members and some flora, the de-aging of crewmembers back into children, the splitting of one crew member made of two or more species into their component species and many many more. Such things tend to make COs, XOs, and Chief Engineers upset and I then go all to pieces.”

“But surprises in drinks are a good thing … bartender, could I have what she’s having,” he asked the bartender.

“What about you, are surprises a good thing in your line of work?” he asked Songz.

OOC: Can anyone identify the episodes that the above things happened in? There is one of them I can’t recall if it happened in STF, but all the others did happen.
