A light smile followed a nod. “It’s good to have creative outlets, regardless of what they are. Same with physical activities. It’s easier for those with a Starfleet background I’ve found, but sometimes we have to remind ourselves that we have different options in those moments. Are these things working for you right now?”

Revna took in a deep breath. “I’m not sure anymore. It seems to help. Then again instead of of being therapeutic techniques, I’m not sure that they have simply become routine and complacency.”

“Maybe it’s time to shake things up,” Sair said with a smile. “Perhaps this is where we can end today, if you’re feeling level. I want you to come up with a list of five things you can do the ease the adrenaline that you either haven’t tried, or have tried before but aren’t using now and can come back to.”

Revna nodded. “I will do that. Thank you, Sair.” She finished the now luke warm cider and got up to return it to the replicator. “We should talk sometime, outside my appointments.” Revna knew that being non-fleet on a Star Fleet ship could be hard to become ‘accepted’ and she liked Sair wouldn’t mind getting to know her more. “When do you want me to come back?”

Revna McKenzie

“I’d like that,” Sair said, finding herself truly meaning it. She wanted to get to know people here and she was going to have to find that balance between people being friends and colleagues and them also being patients. They were going to be both so she might as well start figuring out that murky process. “We’ll book you in for a follow up in a week. How does that sound?” She didn’t think Revna’s issues required anything more frequent right now.

“That sounds fine. I’ll check my schedule and put in a request. Why don’t you plan to meet me for dinner some time this week? I really hate eating alone.”

Revna McKenzie, DA

“Ah, sure,” Sair said, rising to her feet. She moved around her desk to check her schedule, which was varied and a bit unorganized. Once Koro got here, she’d have to set clearer office hours. And then arrange for someone to watch him if she was called away urgently. She hadn’t worked that all out yet and she had time, but it was all a part of the things she had running through her mind at any given time when she wasn’t in session.

Songz looked up over her desk. “I’m free tomorrow night around 1600 hours? Or three evenings after that a bit later at 2000?” At least she had the time lingo down. It did help around here.
