Alexander was on his way to meet with the counselor. He was supposed to complete all check-in before being declared ready for work. Although he felt like it was a waste of time, he had to admit it was an excellent opportunity to meet those he would work with.
About the Counselor, he heard she was Kobliad, a species unknown to Alexander’s knowledge, and he was pretty eager in seeing her. Better be careful not to reverse the session. She is supposed to interrogate me, not the opposite…

As he arrived in front of the counselor’s office, he activated the chime and waited for her answer.

“Come in,” a voice sounded from the door.

Inside, Sair was pulling a mug out of her replicator. Standing fairly tall for many humanoid species, the Kobliad had lilac coloured hair that fell to her chin. Her light brown eyes were deeply set amongst the prominent vertical facial ridges that split her hairline, intersected by thinner horizontal ridges. Most definitely on the lean side, the new counsellor worse simple black trousers and a dark blue tunic that she had adopted in her previous stint on a Starfleet facility: her version of a uniform. She did have a standard combadge though.

A large area rug in muted blues, greys and greens spanned half of the therapy area in front of her desk and she had set a small round coffee table in front of a small sofa and two arm chairs, all in a blue-grey colour. Behind that was her desk with two basic chairs in front and a pale wooden shelving unit to the left by the replicator.

Next to the door was a stone sculpture that was half the height of the door. Carved out of white dolomite, it was a miniature replica of the giant tree that was in the lobby of he Assembly Complex in Kobliad’s capital. The tree had a wide trunk with the appearance of a thick bark and was easily deciduous with sweeping branches with teardrop shaped leaves. Carved around the trunk of the tree were arms with hands seeming to hold the tree and they wound themselves up the trunk.

She smiled at Carpenter and gestured towards the sitting area. His choice. “Welcome to my office. What can I help you with today?” she asked before sipping from her cup, sweetness wafting through the room though there was a spicy undertone.

Alexander was a bit lost in his observation when Sair asked him a question. Clearly, Alexander never saw a Kobliad before, and he had to put his curiosity aside for the moment.

Nodding his head as a salute, the man said : “Counselor.” He approached the small coffee table as a tacit answer to her offer and stood next to one of the arm chairs. “As part of my embarkment procedure, I came for a psychological evaluation.” He offers her a hand to shake : “Alexander Carpentier, a pleasure to meet you.”

Careful of the hot drink in her one hand, Sair took his hand and bowed her head: a somewhat compromise of their two different greetings.

“Welcome, Alexander. I’m Sair Songz. Please, help yourself to the replicator if you like and we can have a little chat,” she said as she moved over to sit in the other arm chair. Her fingers wrapped around the warm mug and for a moment Sair just let it relax her.

Silently agreeing, Alexander moved to the replicator : “Water, 15°c”. In a flash, the drink appeared, and Alexander took it before joining the counselor and sitting in a chair.

“Have you been on the ship long?” she asked. Of course people came to see her within a specific period of time but that period varied depending on how long they had travelled, when they were due to start their first shifts and also how much they wanted to avoid seeing her.

Taking a sip of his glass, he put the drink on the table and said : “It’s been a few days from now since I arrived. I just finished unpacking my belongings.”
After his rapid answer, the man saw a drop sliding from the glass and quickly stopped it with his thumb, before sucking it.

OOC : Sorry for the delay, I had to move for school
