Faye had to admit that she liked it when he laughed. It lit up his face wonderfully and it was good to seem him relax. goodness knows his job could be tough to set aside for the moment but he seemed to be doing quite well when needed tonight. “Well then, I’ll be sure to give it a thorough reading,” she said with a nod. “And she can thank a rather elderly Vulcan for introducing me to her work. He told me he thought it would help give me perspective.” She leaned in towards him slightly. “Personally I just think he could see right through me and he knew I had been going through a rough time. When you’re lost, sometimes the oddest things can bring clarity,” she said with a soft smile.

“Too true, Faye. And I am sure Mom will be very pleased to know her work brought you some… perspective.” and he smiled. “You know, for as stoic and even as Vulcans are, I dont think I have ever met a people more capable of experiencing emotions. And when she is pleased, she lights up a room.” and he chuckled and took a drink.

“Ahh, yeah, I’ve learned that,” Faye said with a nod. “Then again I did spend awhile with the Reunification movement, so I see Vulcans and Romulans in a different light than some.”

“So where are your other two problem children? I know they do late, but…” and he laughed good-naturedly.

Faye was about to comment when the chime went off. Mouth open for a brief moment, she then just pointed her thumb at the door. “Very late but here. Otherwise I was going to say we should just go ahead with our pizzas before my dough over proofs.”

Rising to her feet, she smiled at him. “But… at least it gave us a chance to talk about different things. And I guess that means I like you enough that you can stay for dinner now too…” she said with a wink as she moved to towards the door. Okay, that was perhaps bolder, but she knew her interpretation of people’s reactions was not always great, so could she even evaluate anything that happened here? Certainly their whole dancing bit and the promise to cook together seemed promising, but she wasn’t sure yet how to fully read him.
