With Lukes medical check-in fortunately complete there was only one other place that per Starfleet regulation required him to attend before being cleared for active service aboard a starship, that was the counselor’s office where he found himself now waiting having pushed the door chime to be granted access despite that he still had a list of people to see before he actually for to work and settled in.

The chief counselor was someone who Luke had been anxiously anticipating for a few reasons, one was because he was undergoing active counseling to curve his PTSD which he had suffered from ever since the dominion war and worst the death of his wife many years ago. Secondly, the counselor was a Bajeen, who possessed the unique ability to see ‘aural ghosts’, which apparently every life form released. He really didn’t need to see or know about his departed wife and wondered just how accurate these claims were.

When the doors parted, Dave was sitting at his desk reading on a PaDD. He set it aside as the Lt walked in. “Welcome, I’m Yeoman Brooks. I work with Counselor Rollo. I don’t actually have anyone scheduled for this time slot. Are you new to the Manhattan or are you having an issue at the moment?”

Luke nodded to the man in greeting before adding verbally, “Thank you, I’m Lieutenant Luke Wyatt I’ve just transferred here and was hoping to get my preliminary counseling session out the way, I was undergoing treatment and will need to discuss it with Lieutenant Commander.” He paused looking around, it didn;t seem busy. “Is it possible to have a brief meeting with her now to arrange something in the near future?” The Yeoman was just doing his job but this was always a sensitive area for Luke.

Working for Rollo was gravy, so when the doors opened, Dave became the epitome of the perfect assistant. He didn’t want to lose his place in that office. The Cmdr was always nice to him and she let him read as much as he wanted as long as all of his work was in order. “I’m sure the Counselor can see you now if need be.”

—Yeoman Dave Brooks (for Rollo)

“That would be greatly appreciated Yeoman, thankyou.” Replied the security officer thankful for the opportunity, the last thing he needed was a break in his treatment and going into remission… again. “I shall wait here until she is ready to see me.” Luke smiled again at the Yeoman and took a seat scrolling through his PaDD which had been loaded with his assignment, previous treatment plan, notes from Doctor Milligan his previous counselor and the information pack in regards to the Manhattan and the Delta Quadrant, the latter was what he found himself scrolling through.

Dave left his desk and went through the doors of an inner office. He reappeared a moment later and gave Wyatt a nod, then returned to his desk. The inner doors opened once again to reveal a very pale woman with stark white hair. “Lt Wyatt? Please come in. I’m Counselor Rollo and I understand you need a boarding evaluation and to discuss the need for future meetings?”

—Rollo, CNS

Standing he took the appearance of the woman in, very few things startled him but her pale white skin and even whiter hair made him feel cold. With the hairs on his arm standing up he smiled “Thankyou Counselor” He moved towards where she had just offered him entrance and entered the room. “Thank you for seeing me in such short notice as you might understand I wanted to get initial introductions out the way and settled in as soon as possible.” Explained the security officer again finding himself observing her, his initial thoughts of cold were still there but her voice was warm and inviting. Looking past her whiteness, her blue eyes were something of a complement and rather compelling, he did consider her overall as pretty. “I have brought with me my current psychological notes but you should be able to access them if you haven’t already from your system, I authorised their disclosure with yourself.”

“I did notice them this morning when I came in. They are quite the read.” It wasn’t a malicious comment it just mean that they weren’t the run of the mill sort of file she received quite often. “Please, have a seat. I was just about to have a coffee, can I offer you anything?”

The security officer took the seat opposite her and sat down in it watching her before answering the question she presented him, “I’ll take a tea please, white with two sugars” He held up his index and middle finger indicate the number as well before putting his hands back in his lap while she left to fetch their drinks and perhaps some food, counselors often had sweets or some form of confectionary to help their patients.

Zef moved to the replicator and filled the order(s), then returned and sat opposite Wyatt. With the way the light hit him, she noticed how green his eyes were. Very nice, she thought. “I noted in your file that you had an ongoing commitment with your last counselor about working on your PTSD symptoms. How was that going?”

—Rollo, CNS

“That’s correct” he stated simply before going more in-depth, “It’s going well so far and I haven’t felt the need to drown myself in a bottle of whiskey or use an airlock whilst were at warp so it must be doing something. I still suffer from broken sleep and night terrors.” He shrugged, “But I usually exercise before sleeping so it at least helps me get to sleep.” He admitted, talking about his PTSD wasn’t what was difficult the cure however was.
