=^= Lieutenant Oberon to Ready Room immediately. =^= came the Caotain’s voice through the comms. It was a tone that indicated ‘immediately’ was ten minutes ago.

After the comms were off, Cochrane took a deep breath and went over the CRIT protocols again.

Pretha had been in her quarters going over rosters when the call came. =^= Yes, Sir! On my way.=^= she said and left the stack of work on get desk and took off.

In the fastest time possible she was coming thru the Ready Room doors. “Hello, Captain. What can I do for you?” She was still buttoned up in her uniform with her hair up. A few loose strands framed her face but she was otherwise in presentable condition.

“Sit, please, and read this.” and he slid the PaDD across the desk.

On it was the missive from Star Fleet Command implementing the CRIT - Containment Response Intervention Tactics - program. It detailed the structure, responsibilities, and operational parameters… but had no names attached to it anywhere.

Cochrane watched her read through the file, seeing her reaction as she took it all in.

Her hand slapped down in time to catch and stop the PaDD. A slight frown creased her brow as she glanced at it and began reading.

The frown fell away fairly easily as she read, her body lowering slowly into the chair across from him.

It took her a moment, and some scrolling back and forth, before she was done. She had nodded a time or two and this tine, when she nodded, she smiled as her head came back up.

“I like the concept. I think small groups, like this, on every ship would help assist and keep chaos at a minimum both on away missions and on board. Mixed skills as a given set rather than having to guess what skills were needed at any given tine.” She set description down and looked at him. “This isn’t just a concept… is it?”

Cochrane shook his head. “No. Program has been approved for trial on the Atlantis… and the Manhattan. We’ve been tasked with implementation. I’ve met with the Department Heads, explained the program and how we will implement here. Only thing that is left is to name the team leader and get them started on recruiting and training.” He didn’t move as he spoke; he watched her body language and expression.

“So? You want the job or not?” he asked flatly but with a twinkle of humor in his eyes.

Cochrane, CO

She nodded, her eyes already considering various combinations of crewmen for the group. Her mind already made up that she’d be petitioning for one of the Security spots.

But when the invitation came not to just join the small task force, but to lead it. The surprise was more than evident.

“Of course, Sir!” She snapped out with a smile, her shoulders straightening a bit more without realizing it. “I’d be honored. Thank you, Sir. Who else have you chosen for the team? Or do you have recommendations as to who you want out the balance of the jobs?”

The outline hadn’t been specific and she was curious as to his thoughts on that.

Cochrane leaned back and eyed her critically. “Take the file and fo over it, Lieutenant. I don’t determine the make up of the team. Thats up to you at first, the team as a whole when you have made your preliminary selection. Functionality and effectiveness are entirely your responsibility. You now have Command level access to personnel records. I suggest reviewing and then determining who it is you want with you. And you need to get with Mr. Darragh, the Operations Chief. He has space and storage lined out for you. Questions, Lieutenant?”

Cochrane, CO

She was stunned but not frozen. “Not at the moment, Sir. But I’m sure I will. I’ll go over this, now, and get an outline of what is going thru my head. I’ll also reach out to Chief Darragh, as well.”

She was already going thru notes in her head and trying to think of the balance she could see happening. She just had to make it concise and implement it.

Cochrane nodedd once. “Then get going. I want a CRIT team ready for deployment in 30 days ship time. You have a lot of work ahead of you. Make sure you tell your DH what is going on. But Lieutenant… I cannot stress this enough… only you have authority over CRIT. I can deploy your team as I see fit. But the nuts and bolts are yours and your team. Rank means nothing with regards to how you do things. That is a double edged blade, so tread carefully. Understood?”

Cochrane, CO

“Yes, Sir. I do. And you’ll have your team on time, Captain.” She smiled and rose, taking up the PaDD. “Thank you. I’ll keep you updated as well.”

Having already been dismissed, she nodded respectfully and headed out the door. The PaDD was tapping on her leg as she was already thinking of how she wanted the final product to be.
