Another life form? Could they really be dealing with that? ” You think inside each Gravinian, there is another sentient being with a corporeal form?” She shivered at the possibilities it brought to mind. How would it be to have something slither out of you to live its own life during your sleep cycle ,when you were your most vulnerable?

“I have no idea but right now I would rather be safe than sorry. On the planet surface, there were three patients in the medical center that were gravely ill. I am not going to say something hurt them but I can’t rule it out. I also can’t rule out that maybe the loss of the corporeal form caused the illness. The point is I don’t know but I dont’ think we can ignore any of this without more studies,” Jasmine said

Lt. Jasmine Wyner CMO

Zef shook herself to break the hold of unpleasant thoughts and looked at the Cmdr. “I’ll contact Captain Cochrane if you’ll call security.”

—Rollo, CNS

OOC: Duh…don’t know why I didn’t continue…

“Done deal,” Max said, but before he called security he made his way to a console and began to run a diagnosis on the bio containment field. He took the liberty of upping the power feed to it as well, just to make sure.

IC:
The Cmdr tapped her combadge. =/\=Rollo to Cochrane. Sir, there’s been a development in the Gravinian situation. Shall I meet you or tell you over an open channel?=/\=

—Rollo, CNS (don’t know where he is at the moment so I won’t cross post)

When she was satisfied that the damage to Hone’s various tissues and clumped up organs had been repaired as best as possible with regenerators, bleeding stemmed, she finally raised her head to look at Wynter. “Doctor Wynter.” Her speech was slow and relaxed. “We should begin the transfusion.”

Lt. J.G. Che’lak - Medical

=^= Go ahead Counselor. =^= came the response.

Cochrane, CO

=/\=Captain, there have been some developments with the Gravinians. Those aboard have fallen into a deep sleep, but announced that it was part of their species particulars. During the time they sleep, from dusk till dawn, another life form of some kind leaves their bodies and rules the night. We aren’t sure what the second life form is or if it has a corporeal form, but it has been posited that the loss of it may be the reason for illness Dr Wynter observed on the planet. It may also have something to do with the unexplained deaths.=/\=

—Rollo, CNS

Che’lak had only just become aware of the Graviens’ sleep cycle and had been distracted by her surgery. At Rollo’s spelling out of the connection between that and the hypothetical second life form, the Vulcan looked up with wide eyes conveying immense approval. “Remarkable.” Then she felt it.

While Tov was being worked on by the Vulcan, it was at the point where she was just getting the bleeding stemmed, and when Maree and Hone were just asleep when Che’lak felt something. It started at her hands and worked up through her limbs - a cool sensation that felt like the change of day to night in the Vulcan desert. This passed through her.

Che’lak’s eyes widened yet further to an uncomfortable extent.

To the others that witnessed this they would first hear the drop of the instrument that Che’lak had in hand hitting the floor, having fallen out of her hand. Next they would see her stumbling backward and would have fallen (assuming someone close will catch her).

With her hands free now that Maree was asleep, Zef had moved closer to the surgical table out of curiosity. She was still far enough away that she had to lunge fully to catch Che’lak as she started to fall. The two women landed in a heap, but neither was hurt.

To Che’lak the feeling would leave her senses reeling. It was not a physical sensation or attack but something spiritual - like something that touched her very Katra. The sensation would work out of her after a minute but the uneasy sense that something had touched her Katra would remain.

There was no affect on the containment field.

“What happened? Did you faint?” She looked around the bay, not sure what her eyes sought out. The situation was so unique that Zef didn’t limit her expectations. She also flipped her sight into the mode that allowed her to see aural images. With the Gravinians sleeping…was something else in the bay with them now?

—Rollo, CNS

There was an image and a trail that had a strength to it that began at Tov. As Rollo followed that she would find a more solid emanation that was less a ghost but not not corporeal in any way that had the same general shape of Tov. It was not ‘glowing’ per se but in hues of blues and purples with an angular definition of the person. As though suddenly noticing that it was being looked at it turned and stepped through the bulkhead wall of sickbay. Perhaps as disturbing was that there were two other similar ‘trails’ that had been there previously that may mark Hone and Maree, though most curious was a fourth that passed both in and out of the room.

A head smacked onto the carpeted floor with a muted smack. The Vulcan’s conscious self had departed the ship. As, for a dozen or two seconds, the woman lived as her core self alone, passion and raw self-attachment flooded her mind. Vital aspects of her true self, usually pushed so far aside by her conscious mind in vain attempts to be something she should never be, returned in an instant. Once the wave of feeling subsided and she began to slowly return to her senses, an overwhelming sense of something having penetrated the most inner sphere of her being enveloped her. After a minute or so, Che’lak came to in a true sense as she desperately attempted to come to terms with what had just become of her.

Lt. J.G. Che’lak - Medical

“Someone help Che’lak,” Jasmine yelled out moving to the position the Vulcan stood moments before. Any other time, she would be helping the fallen comrade but she wasn’t sure if Tov’s surgery was completed one hundred percent.

Moving towards Che’lak, a nurse ran a tricorder over her. “How are you feeling sir,” she asked the doctor.

“I, I, I” Che’lak hissed as she writhed in place. Her state fell peaceful for a short while.

Ensign Kaia, having fallen asleep during the regeneration of her broken arm, came to consciousness upon hearing the thud that was the Vulcan ensign hitting the ground. “Huh…?” She muttered, looking around at everything that was going on and being utterly confused.

Kaia, Eng.

Max’s hand tapped the comm badge on his chest. =/\= Cmdr Wynter to Security and the Captain. Doctor Che’lak just collapsed during surgery on one of the Gravinians, we have a potential security issue. =/\=

His mind went back to the image of the girl on the road that just disappeared when they looked for her, and he turned to the console looking for any changes to the sensors or containment field. “If they have a thing in them or coming out of them, there should be some kind of energy we can see,” he began to run a multi-spectral scan of the room, leaving the downed doctor to the professionals.

Lt Cmdr Wynter, CE

OOC: Adding Rollo back in…

Rollo spotted the aural trails. They were not alone and Wynter was right. As she helped Che’lak up from the floor, she spoke to the CE. “I can see it. There are four of them and they’ve all left sickbay. I saw one of them walk through that bulkhead over there.” She nodded her head in the direction. “Another two were already gone, but the fourth one…it looks like its been in and out of sickbay several times.”

Both women were standing now but Zef still had a hold of Che’lak, not sure if the woman was steady yet. “We have three Gravinians here—so where did the fourth entity come from?”

—Rollo, CNS

“Max,” Jasmine called out, “are you reading any bio signs and what is going on with those containment fields,” she asked concerned. The containment fields were supposed to hold everything out or in depending on the occasion all the way down to the microscopic level. These things seemed to pass through them like they weren’t even there.

Lt. Jasmine Wynter CMO

OCC: I know I can’t be in two places at once so I am just going to assume the Staff meeting is at a different moment in time.

Tov seemed to have pulled out of the surgery well enough, for now, to just be monitored by the medical staff at large. Grabbing a medical tricorder, Jasmine moved next to Max. “Hopefully if you can find them I can get their life signs to register here, Egon?” Jasmine smiled at her husband hoping he got the joke about the old movie. While Max looked nothing like Egon or Venkman, Jasmine did see herself more as a Winston.

Lt. Jasmine Wynter CMO

“It would help if I knew what the heck I was looking for,” Max said with a slightly grumpy tone as he watched the scans coming in. Noting where Rollo indicated one walked through the bulkhead, Max directed more resources to that location. “Egon?” he asked her and looked at her with a raised eyebrow. “You really think I’m Egon? I always saw myself as a Stantz more than an Egon. Maybe a little Venkman if you make me fiesty.”

Lt Cmdr Wynter, CE

“Is that a challenge,” she laughed looking at her husband. Normally they weren’t that cozy in public situations, but Max had just been in a car accident. She hadn’t had a moment to make sure he was fine until now. This chit chat would have to do until she could make a proper evaluation of his condition. Luckily she made house calls.

Life sign scans were .. missing. Nothing came up there. Whatever it was that they were it wasn’t a standard life sign or biological in any way that would trigger the bio filters and medical force fields.
- Wookiee

In a split second Che’lak went from silent relaxation to lifting her head and bellowing out a high pitched screech. Violently, the woman grabbed at the nurse hovering above her, roughly grabbing at her neck.

Lt. J.G. Che’lak - Medical

OOC: If anyone would likely sedate Che’lak at some point, don’t hesitate! :D

What were these people doing? She’d just told them there were four intruders, that she’d seen them, but no one asked her anything. Since Che’lak was now conscious and Zef had already helped her to her feet, she handed her off to the nurse and looked carefully at the aural trails left by the symbiotes inside the Gravinians. Choosing the one that pulsed the strongest, the counselor headed out of sickbay to see where it had gone. If she could catch up to one of the energies, she might be able to communicate with it. “There!” down the corridor she spotted the same aura passing through another wall…

—Rollo, CNS

“I need a sedative,” Jasmine yelled out seeing Che’lak having what appeared to be a psychotic breakdown. Whatever was happening to the Vulcan was swift, immediate, and something that the Vulcan did not seem able to control which is probably more concerning than the action. Vulcan’s were known for their self-control.

Che’lak was on her feet now and pressing her forehead against that of the nurse. Her cragged fingers dug into the poor woman’s biceps as the Vulcan screamed silently into her face.

Lt. J.G. Che’lak - Medical

NE Blankenship responded to Che’lak’s attack. Grabbing a hypo and dialing in a heavy dose of anesthezine, she slammed the device against Che’lak’s neck and activated the dose with a soft pop. As the physiologist slumped to the deck, she tapped her comm badge. =^= Security to Sickbay! =^= she cried.

NE Blankenship

=^=Wyatt here, on our way=^= was the response that came from the security officer.

The journey took longer than he had hoped but as he entered through the doors it seems the scene had already desculated. “What’s the situation here?” He asked looking around.

  • Lieutenant Luke Wyatt

“Che’lak is having some sort of mental breakdown. We were finishing up a surgery and then she passed out. When she came to Che’lak reacted violently. Cause unknown at this time,” Jasmine stated pulling out a tricorder and beginning to scan the unconscious Vulcan. “Help me get her to a bed and restrain her. I am not sure what is happening but right now I need to make sure she is safe.”

Lt. Jasmine Wynter CMO

Rollo’s comm to the CO was heard throughout the ship. =/\= Rollo to the Captain. I was in sickbay and I saw their auras, Sir. The symbiots that live inside the Gravinians. They all went in different directions, but I’m following one of them. I might lose it because whatever it is, it can pass through the bulkheads. Right now I’m on deck 3 in corridor 4-A. Put a trace on my com badge and have security and science find me.=/\=
