Shadowing under a more experienced officer, Ensign Merot stood at Tactical, black eyes surveying the bridge. Mentions of the Delta Quadrant had peaked interest and sparked curiosity with a lot of the bridge crew. The young betazoid did not share these same feelings. The Delta Quadrant was a mystery, the small pieces of information that Starfleet had uncovered from the quadrant indicated there were plenty of horrors hidden away on the other side of the Galaxy. But, the communication with Captain Winchester and the information of the object they received didn’t alert him to any dangers. It wasn’t his place to voice his paranoia. So, he stood at his station, continuing to observe.

BJ read over the data that was coming in. He was certain that his science counterpart was doing so as well. “Looks like we’re playing the game find the needle in the haystack. Should be fun.”

Janzen

Danora smiled at Janzen. “The great thing about needles is, they are magnetic.” She used the scanners to scan for concentrated areas of duranium with similar readings of shielding. “Let’s see if we can get a lock on you, little bug…” She started the scans and hoped they would get something soon. Last thing they wanted was some small probe of unknown origins, scanning their quadrant for weaknesses.

=/\=Good luck, Captain. If we come up with anything new, we’ll let you know as a soon as possible,=/\=Winchester added.

“Alright Captain we will check it out and let you know Memorial out.” Tralla said ending the call “Helm Set course for the Event Horizon Wormhole Warp 7 Enegage!” she ordered simply settling in to her chair for the trip turning to her new first officer “Mr. Mulligan what do you think?” she asked her antenna showing her curiosity

Tralla

Tyrran turned to the Captain, his right eyebrow arched as he pondered the situation.
“It’s not much to go on, Captain. All we know for certain is that a probe of unknown origin has traversed the wormhole.”

Mulligan, XO

“Aye Cap’n” came the reply from JT at the helm station “Course already plotted, engaging at Warp 7” he confirmed as he worked the controls to bring the ship to warp and its eventual destination.

Helm

Danora started a wide scan search of the materials the probe was made out of. With any luck, they would sense it before they ran over it. Meanwhile, she tapped into the AI to see if it had any information on probes of similar make up with unknown origins, or origins not of the main Federation database.

As the ship sped along to its destination, speculation was of course expected. The fact that duranium was a common metal used in constructing thing probably didn’t help the search, as well as the fact that it was so small. Given their experience with the Delta Quadrant was limited to the explorations of a handful of ships, and the bulk of it from the USS Voyager, there wasn’t much hope for a match.

And indeed Maizie wasn’t able to help very much. There were no matches, and if they expanded their search to include just similarities, there were thousands of similar metallurgical compositions used by species all over the galaxy. It would appear, at least initially that whomever created the object was using similar methods as other spacefaring species but nothing that they could pinpoint directly.

Within twenty minutes, the Memorial arrived in the region where the entrance/exit to the wormhole was. They would of course need to keep their distance from the triggering location, but given the time that had lapsed, the object would likely have moved some distance away by that point, accounting of course for momentum.

Helm Work with Science and set up a search grid we will have to see what comes up” The andorian ordered still not sure what to think not that she could very well during the trip to the wormhole she began once again to get a headache due to her ocular implants she was as deep into her chair as possible with her hand over her eyes and rubbing the temples of her head with her thumbs her Antenna dropped over as if looking sickly

Tralla

“Working on it, Captain,” Wendell acknowledged. “Which really shouldn’t be too difficult of a task. If we have its last known coordinates, course, and speed, we can accurately predict it’s final destination.”
