Adrian had returned from leave, he had recently gotten the news that his father’s health had been decreasing over the last few months. During his visit, his father had been hospitalized after suffering from a nasty heart attack. Adrian had been grateful that his father was recovering. It was just a matter of time before he lost him completely. After spending a good week at home, Adrian finally returned from his leave. Adrian was in his quarter’s unpacking his things, thinking about his father, and how he wanted to help him recover. But he knew that meant leaving the ship. Which was something he would not consider, being on this ship meant a lot to him.After Adrian finished unpacking his belongings he changed into a clean uniform then made way to the sickbay to report to his CMO. As Adrian left his quarters he walked the halls quietly not in much of a hurry. He was still thinking. His mind kept returning to the previous thoughts of his father, he mainly hoped his father would keep fighting. Before Adrian knew it, he had made it to sickbay, as he entered he made his way over to where he could find his CMO and spoke “Sir? I hope im not disturbing you, I’ve come back from my leave, and im reporting for duty sir.” He said having his hands folded behind his back looking towards his CMO.
Ensign Adrian Titus -Doctor
Jack was sitting in his chair going over the most recent reports when the young ensign entered the room. He studied him with mild interest “Titus” He said with a thoughtful expression “How is your father?” he asked, at least moderately aware of the situation with his family.
Dr. Grey - CMO
“He is doing better sir. I’m still concerned with his decreasing health though.” Adrian stated as he shifted on his feet changing his posture slightly “I’m concerned that he may not last more than another year at the most. But I can’t stay with him forever.” He said losing himself in his thoughts for a moment “I am ready to return to duty, sir. ” Adrian added

Jack nodded “Understood” He hesitated for a moment “We don’t have anything special going on so I’d like you to get reacquainted with your team, I’ll be assigning you back on your old Bravo shift. Checkups and standard day-to-day. You should also have a word with Lieutenant Arbogist, I’m told that mental anguish regarding family…” He paused “events can be taxing.”
Dr. Grey - CMO
Adrian nodded as he listened “yes sir. Though I don’t think I’ll need to speak with them, sir. I’m not saying I won’t speak with them but I feel that returning will help keep my mind off of it until im ready to speak about it a bit more than I already have…” Adrian said “I just want to focus on my job for the time being…” He stated cautiously as he looked at Jack hoping he had chosen his words wisely.

Jack considered the man carefully before making his decision “Alright, but I expect the same level of work ethic as you had in the past. Family events or not you are a Starfleet doctor, sometimes this job can mean life and death and I need all my staff at their best.” He said in his usual brusk tone “Do you have any questions or something to add Ensign?”
Dr. Grey - CMO
Adrian looked at his superior and listened with caution, “No sir I do not have any questions, but I will add that I will not let my personal family events get in the way. I have my mind solely set on my job as a star fleet doctor. Now if we’re done I’ll be on my way and if there’s anything you need me to do then please let me know sir.” Adrian said as he adjusted his posture into a more serious posture, Adrian had known long before he set foot back onto the ship that he needed to focus on his work instead of his ill father. He knew his father was in good hands, so it didn’t worry him too much. Yes, he may be concerned with his father’s health but he knew there wasn’t much he could do. So instead Adrian kept his mindset on work to keep him focused rather than distracted. Adrian looked at his superior with determination in his eyes his mind had changed while being with his father, Adrian wanted to better his skills and knowledge in ways he couldn’t explain, but he realized that by keeping focused on his work and performing at his best was essential in his line of work and that was exactly what he intended to do.
Ensign Adrian Titus-Doctor
Jack inclined his head “Alright then, go refamiliarize yourself with the Sickbay setup and go over the supplies on hand. Check our medical kits to make sure they are fully equipped.” He said turning to the side, it was a good first job after returning “Dismissed”
