Jack wasn’t particularly fond of transporters. He disliked the feeling of being torn too tiny atoms and manufactured in a different location. He always felt hungry after beaming over as if the contents of his stomach had been left somewhere in space. But seeing as he was a late transfer and there wasn’t enough time for proper docking he got over his dislikes and stepped on the Transporter Platform. The slight tingling sensation always started near his liver and made it’s way to his stomach. Moments later he was standing Deck 3 of his new home. He stopped to look around the room. Six person transporter, single Transporter Chief, a fairly sizable room. It was slightly larger than ships he’d served on but not as packed. He grabbed his duffel bag and threw it over his shoulder “Well no time like the present, aye chief?” He said as he stepped of the platform. This was going to be an interesting trip.

NE Helpsie looked up from the transporter controls as the CMO was finished being beamed aboard. “..Ah hey lieutenant! Welcome aboard! If you wanna check in with the XO or CO I’m pretty sure they’re up on the bridge or ready room right now!” he said.

“Thank you chief” Jack smiled at the transporter chief before leaving the room. Since he was already on deck 3 he moved to his new quarters. His stuff had already been transported to the Cargo Bay so he’d have time later to check on it. Now his simply tossed his bag on his bed, checked his impeccable hair in the mirror, smiled at himself and half jogged to the nearest turbolift. He called for the Bridge and waited for the few seconds it took to go down to the bridge. An odd sensation not going to the top of the ship to visit the Bridge, although now he was a Medical Officer he wouldn’t be spending much time there anyway.

When the lift doors opened the former scientist took a moment to gather his thoughts before stepping out and looking around “I’m looking for Captain Zoarhi” His soft Scottish brogue filled the silent Bridge “Well Either her or Commander Jones” He put his hands behind his back as he scanned the room carefully.

Dr. Grey - CMO

Jade was sitting in her X’s chair when she heard the new voice. she got up and turned to face him. “Ah you must be Dr Grey.” she said walking over to him and offering a hand shake “My name is commander Jade Jones, I’m the XO” she said in greeting her British accent shinning through.

“Sadly the Captain is indisposed at the moment. So if you’d like you can report in with me” she added after a short pause.

Cmdr Jones (XO)

“Yes of course. The Briefing room then or?” He indicated to the starboard side of the bridge with his right hand.

CSO

Jade nodded “of course.” she said gesturing top the door “NE Watcher, you have the bridge.” she said simply as she walked into the briefing room. Once inside she walked over to the replicator “Can i get you anything Lieutenant?” she asked politely.

Cmdr Jones (XO)

After the XO and CMO had left Watcher took the center chair eagerly grinning to NE Guarder, “..Ahhh right time for Ensign Watcher to shine!” he said.

Guarder rolled his eyes, “..Pish dont you mean ‘captain’ Watcher?” he replied.

”..Y…yeah! That’s what I Meant!” Watcher snapped back embarrassed.

Jack sat down in the nearest chair, crossing his legs as soon as he was comfortable “Yes, English Breakfast tea, hot, please” He interlocked his fingers and gently put his hands down, eyeing the Commander. She had an English accent. A fellow Brit. He knew she was a Doctor as well but had been one for considerably longer than he but she couldn’t be more than a few years older than he.

Dr. Grey - CMO

Jade nodded “one English breakfast tea and a tea, earl grey, hot” she said simply. Once the drink materialized she brought them over to the table “Here you go” she said handing the drink to Jack.

“So Lieutenant or do you prefer Doctor.? Tell me a little bit about yourself. I want to get to know you. After all a fellow doctor is usually nice to get to know” she said kindly as she sat down.

Jack started by taking a sip. One could tell a lot about the ship one was serving on by the way its replicators made tea. It told you a lot about its crew, engineering capabilities and general taste. So far so good “Actually I’m not certain” He smiled as he carefully lowered the cup. “I’ve technically only been an MD for the past year or so.” He smiled in an amused manner “Although I have been perfectly qualified as a practitioner of medicine since my early twenties, at least in theory. MY scientific studies always prevailed so when I first graduated the academy in ‘86 I did so as a Science officer, albeit with a degree in Xenobiology. I’d done all my theoretical work for medical school in the following years until I decided to finally enter medical school, Pax Angelica on Mars” He grabbed the cup again and lifted it up “So whichever way works” smiled again as he took another sip.

Dr. Grey - CMO

Jade nodded “I know that feeling. I started as a pilot, then i had to be a filed medic as wells as a pilot, then i was transferred and became a medical assistant. then pilots where disbanded so i ended up a medical ensign. Then i got my doctor and then i was a CMO and now I’m an XO. It does get hard to keep track of what titles are best. I still reply to people if they call Doctor.” Jade said understandingly

“I’ll refer to you as Doctor I think. unless I’m told otherwsie.” she said after a short pause.

“So do you specialize in any specific part of medicine or are you a all rounder?” she asked

Cmdr Jones (XO)

“I’d already finished my Xenobiology Ph.D. and post-doctorate before medical school so I only took general medicine and advanced surgical classes.” He took another sip from his tea “I’ve also been continuing my studies into Exobiology so I’m also a capable veterinarian although I need a little more time until I get my degree” He smiled again.
